  • Rockstar Triathlete Lorri Bolander

    Rockstar Triathlete Lorri Bolander

    Coaches Notes:

Lorri is a true Rockstar Triathlete! Although she lives in Key West and is not local to Miami and cannot attend the weekly training sessions- she shows up every week in her training and on the coach calls, asks questions, and works the program the way it was designed to achieve some great results over the past few months! She questioned almost everything we gave her and I LOVE working with this type of athlete that wants to know the why and is willing to do the work and trust the process and ultimately see and feel the results! This takes courage and bravery to do!

So incredibly proud of you, Lorri, and super excited for the next journey to the full Florida Ironman in 2024! Let’s do this!!!!

    What is your age?

    48

    What is your profession?:

    Hair stylist and makeup artist

Why did you choose FCC to help you on your triathlon/health and wellness journey?

I had a lot of experience from racing on and off for the last 13 years, but I knew I had so much to learn.
Basic coaching, nutritional information, and basic schedule planning were not enough for my goals in this sport.  I randomly came across FCC on Facebook, and they checked all the boxes on everything I wanted from a coach.

What is/ was your “A” race for this season?

It was the Miamiman 70.3, 2023- I just completed.  My next A race will be next November for the Florida Full Ironman.

    What are your BIG goals?

My Big goals are to lean out more as I keep working on my nutritional program,  work on and conquer better breathing techniques especially in the run and work on my power and speed on the bike.

Tell me about your successes so far!

My successes so far for swimming is I was able to rehab my shoulder through swimming.  I worked on my form with the advice I received and took time off my 100 yard swim and got down to 20 strokes per length of pool.  On the bike I learned about cadence and how to maintain at least 80 which i never did before. I truly understand my gears and when to switch to higher or lower gears. On the run I learned how to run with prope form and added some speed. All of these things were huge successes to me because when I put it all together it made my racing come together so much better.

What were some of your biggest improvements in performance for each of the following? Swim, Bike, Run, and Nutrition/Health.

SWIM: My biggest improvement for the swim was getting the video analysis and learning better technique and breathing skills which in turn gave me a new PR in my race.

Bike: The biggest improvement on the bike was learning not to push heavy, hard gears while racing and tiring out my legs but using higher cadence. I was over using my legs so much, I had nothing left for the run.
That is not the case anymore.  On the run at Miamiman, I was able to run the last 6 miles faster than ever after a windy bike and I got 1st place in my age group.

Run: I can finally heart rate train! I always had a difficult time with that type of training and sticking with it long enough to see the results…My body is adjusting to this type of training, and I feel like my run is only getting better and better.
I feel stronger in all three sports over all.

Name 2 or 3 things that have made the biggest difference in your journey:

    1. The attention to what I personally need to make my goals achievable.
    2. Being able to talk and listen to others about any and all issues with training and racing during the weekly Zoom calls and the ability to text the coaches with my questions.
    3. The nutrition program opened my eyes to train like an athlete and eat like one. I’m learning why I eat what I eat. The results are amazing I lost 13 lbs!

What excites you the most about being involved in running/triathlon?

Achieving goals I never thought I could definitely excites me but there is more than just that.

I love being strong! Mentally and Physically. And most of all, I love the triathlon community. Nothing is better than talking shop with other athletes that “get” you and why we do what we do.

What would you say to another person who was on the fence about joining our training program?

Everyone could use a coach. In fact, Olympians and all professional athletes have coaches. Trusting the coaching and the program is important and not easy to find. Full CIrcle Coaching has the knowledge and experience that we all deserve to know but just don’t typically know how to access it or who to trust enough to ask and get the correct information.

Learning is never-ending, and If you want to be part of a community that is driven to excel at training and racing and gives you the VIP attention and support you desire and deserve, look no further than FCC.

  • The 80/20 rule will help you maintain through the holidays

The 80/20 rule will help you maintain through the holidays

Have you heard of the 80/20 Rule?

It’s a helpful idea to manage stress and time. It’s SUPER-helpful during the holidays when lots of us need help remembering what’s important, managing resources, and improving how we get things done.

Here’s what it says, in a nutshell: 80 percent of the outcomes in life come from 20 percent of the causes.

Put another way; we get the most results from a fraction of our efforts.

Put another way, don’t run around like a chicken with its head cut off trying to do everything! It’s really not productive.

And I’m pointing this out during this hectic time of year because – it’s so easy to get overwhelmed and stressed by the holidays that we do run around like that unfortunate bird.

    • Because we accept as “URGENT” all those demands put on us by other people.
    • Because we have FOMO.
    • Because we don’t want to let people down.

So, take a moment… Breathe… And remember to focus your energy on the few things that will bring you the most happiness. Like exercising and training for triathlon! 😉

And might I remind you I live by this rule all year round!

  • Rockstar Triathlete Lara Dyke

    Rockstar Triathlete Lara Dyke

    Coaches Notes:

Lara contacted me after several DNFs (Did Not Finish) at the Ironman Distance. I was super excited to help her get started on the journey.

We have a two-year plan, as that is sometimes what it takes to build up the training required to finish before the cut-off time. Her success so far has been tremendous. Instead of walking more than running in her training, we have reversed it. She has better bike handling skills and can hold a consistent pace for training and racing. In the swim She overcame panic and trauma that was holding her back. Swimming open water without stopping.

Thanks for choosing Full Circle Coaching with your Ironman journey; you are now on your way!

    What is your age?

Tell me about your successes so far!

I can now swim in a sprint without panicking or stopping (which is huge), and I hit my rpm/speed goal on my bike.  I can run/jog for 20 minutes straight with no breaks :).

What were some of your biggest improvements in performance for each of the following? Swim, Bike, Run, and Nutrition/Health.

Swim: not panicking or stopping in the race at all.

Bike: averaging 85 rpm at 14 MPH

    Run: Running 12:18 min/ mile

Nutrition: Being more aware of the type of food I ingest and how it affects my health and digestion.

Name 2 or 3 things that have made the biggest difference in your journey:

  • 5 Strategies for a guilt-free, waistline-friendly Thanksgiving

    5 Strategies for a guilt-free, waistline-friendly Thanksgiving

Ah – the most wonderful time of the year is beginning! From Thanksgiving to Christmas the average person gains 7-10 pounds. We KNOW this, but we do it anyway. Most people do absolutely nothing to stop it. So why is this?

We tend to use special occasions as an excuse not just to overindulge but to binge. It’s your birthday (or the day after or the week of)? Cake for breakfast becomes perfectly reasonable. Halloween? A dozen mini chocolates? Totally acceptable (they’re mini after all, right?)!

The problem with this season is that there isn’t just one special occasion here and there. Between the DAY of the holiday itself, the numerous parties, work functions, and so on, many days become a special occasion where we apply the “anything goes rule.” What I’m sharing below are the tools I personally use to enjoy a guilt-free, waistline-friendly and healthy holiday season…

Approach Thanksgiving With An Abundance Mindset

This applies to any holiday really. The truth is, there is nothing truly special about holiday meals aside from the people we share them with. We live in a first world country where the foods we want are at our fingertips 365 days per year. So, in reality, you could have Thanksgiving in part or in whole at any time. When you approach food with an abundance mindset, it’s a lot easier to practice holiday levels of moderation.

    Expect, Accept, and Embrace Over-Indulgence

It would be completely unreasonable for me to sit and lecture you on not over-indulging. Especially because I’ll likely be doing it myself! A key for me is being OK with it, not wracking myself with guilt because I knew it was coming! Heck…I plan on it – not to the extreme, but I’m not going to practice my normal rule of eating to 80% full. The damage stress does and the way it affects hormonal balance (and ultimately how much body fat we have) is far worse than having one big meal – so go enjoy it!

Fill Your Plate With Protein And Veggies First

Then add tastes of all the other goodies – I’m totally o.k. with you overdoing these two food groups (see point above). But when you strategically fill your plate with the better stuff, you’re obviously going to be better off. Even a plate of broccoli isn’t good for you when you’re in caloric excess, BUT it’s going to take you much longer and with much more food to reach that point when you maintain focus on protein and veggies with smaller tastes of starchy carb rich dishes and desserts.

    Plan To Move

Whether you go for a hike with your family, get a hard strength workout, or simply take a 20 minute walk, vow to do something to get your body moving before or after the big meal! You’ll feel much better all day for it!

    Splurge Only Once

A holiday is only one DAY…not an entire season, so this bit of advice is two-fold. Plan to splurge only on the actual DAY of the holiday (or whichever day you celebrate) and only once during that day. No need for a full breakfast, Thanksgiving meal, then another full plate of leftovers that evening. Sure, it tastes good, but you’ll feel completely miserable and be working to undo the damage for weeks to come!

So, there you have my top 5 Thanksgiving (or holiday in general) strategies! I promise if you apply these, you’ll be a lot less likely to end up in the category of people who gain weight over the holidays!

    Wishing You Well,
    Coach Erinne Guthrie

  • Rockstar Triathlete Daniel Alvarez Attributes Injury-Free Race to Training With Full Circle

Rockstar Triathlete Daniel Alvarez Attributes Injury-Free Race to Training With Full Circle

    Coaches Notes:

I am incredibly proud of Daniel for completing the Full Circle Coaching Triathlon Transformation program with his first 70.3 performance in North Carolina.

He came to me as a typical triathlete, training, and racing as hard as he could on every session. This is a great way to get hurt and burnt out. He didn’t know what he didn’t know. I will never forget his comment after our first bike session- “Wow, so that’s how you train on the bike – I learned so much!”

He was already a strong guy, and getting into shape, we just helped him get specific for the distance he wanted to race, the 70.3.

We evaluated his technique on the swim, bike, and run and improved his nutrition so he had energy for the more extended training session. He has so much improvement from where he started while balancing life as a newly single dad and successful business owner.

Way to go, Daniel. I’m super excited for the journey to the Full Ironman. Thanks for trusting us with your journey – You are a Rockstar Triathlete!

    What is your age?

    I’m 46 years old

    What is your profession?:

I’m an Engineer and work in Sales and Marketing in an online business.

Why did you choose FCC to help you on your triathlon/health and wellness journey?

I was starting my journey in triathlon and saw Coach Erinne giving a great pre-race explanation and advice. Then, the third time I saw her, I made contact and started the program.

What is/ was your “A” race for this season?

Ironman NC 70.3. I finally learned how to pace during the race to finish strong with a 6:07- for my very first 70.3 with no injuries!

    What are your BIG goals?

Keep training, prepare myself for doing at least 1 Ironman 70.3 every year and in 2027 my first full Ironman race.

Tell me about your successes so far!

Being able to train an average of 5 days a week, loosing some weight (30 lbs), feeling more active and strong, finishing every race I’ve entered over the past year and having a lot of fun doing them.

What were some of your biggest improvements in performance for each of the following? Swim, Bike, Run, and Nutrition/Health.

Getting better at swimming and biking, with proper technique and guidance, significantly impacted my performance. Also, the combination of training, fueling with the right nutrition, and resting has made me go beyond what I thought I could.

My running was terrible. I still have so much to learn and practice; I know it will take time and effort, but I’m willing to put in the hard work and time to improve. I don’t want to injure myself, so technique plays a significant role; I’m learning a lot. I was able to finish the run at the 70.3, feeling strong.

Name 2 or 3 things that have made the biggest difference in your journey:

    1. Having team of athletes for support and company.
    2. Having coaches with lots of experience end knowledge.
    3. The feeling of accomplishment after every race or event, make me want to come back stronger.

What excites you the most about being involved in running/triathlon?

The healthy lifestyle, having a moment everyday for myself, train and see my improvement, having a break from day to day tasks.

What would you say to another person who was on the fence about joining our training program?

Take action, overthinking won’t get you anywhere! It’s time to discover your true potential.

  • 5 Ways to Get Unstuck!

    5 Ways to Get Unstuck!

Ever feel like you’re giving your best effort and just not getting the results you want in any area of life?

Or maybe you feel like you just don’t have the motivation and drive right now to transform your body and your life.

If you’re feeling stuck, I’m here to help.

So, here are my top 5 ways you can get un-stuck:

    1. Focus on the next right move. If you focus on the big picture, it’s easy to get overwhelmed. But by simply directing yourself to make the RIGHT decision (the one that brings you closer to your goal) in each moment will add up to big results that keep you motivated.
    2. Devise a reward strategy. If you make the changes you desire and reach your goals, how will you reward yourself (not with food!)? It could be something as big as a vacation or as small as a massage.
    3. Be real about the consequences of not changing. What are the bad things that will happen if you don’t achieve your goal? Let that sink in and drive you.
    4. Make “DO IT ANYWAY” your motto. When you’re ready to talk yourself out of exercising or cooking dinner, LIVE this motto. So often we get lost rationalizing poor choices in our heads. We have to do this to make accepting less than our best easier. Be aware of it and choose differently.
    5. Increase your accountability. A good way of doing this is to ask a friend to join you. A GREAT way to do this is to hire a coach who believes in you but NOT your excuses.

So, which of these resonates most with you? Any you haven’t attempted before?

And don’t forget – if you need help getting un-stuck, we’ve got your back here at FULL CIRCLE COACHING. Just let me know you’re ready text me at the number below. I’ll reach out to you and start the conversation right away.

  • Rockstar Triathlete Mason Fruit: A Triathlon Transformation Success Story

    Rockstar Mason Fruit

    Coaches Notes:

Mason called me around this time last year, right after the MiamiMan Triathlon 2022, where he was racing the International distance race. He wanted to go long and complete three 70.3s in 2023.

    I love goals like this!

He joined my Signature Triathlon Transformation Program, and we got to work on all his testing and evaluations. From there, we started training to improve his swim, bike, and run technique and build his aerobic capacity for the longer-distance races he aimed for.

Nutrition and strength played a role in his ability to handle the volume of his training while working full-time at a pretty intense job and being a good boyfriend.

For someone his age, I was surprised at his dedication to the sport and reaching his goals. Most 20-something-year-olds are not that dedicated to putting in the work that being a successful triathlete takes!

Congratulations on all your 70.3 races- you are a true Rockstar Triathlete. Sub 6, here you come!

    What is your age?

    27

    What is your profession?:

    Electrical Engineer

Why did you choose FCC to help you on your triathlon/health and wellness journey?

I met Erinne at Miami Man 2022 – and she made me take my shoes off in the grass. Instant credibility!

What is/ was your “A” race for this season?

I did three 70.3’s with Arizona 70.3 as my “A” Race.

    What are your BIG goals?

Sub 6 70.3 at Oceanside and Oregon next season

Tell me about your successes so far!

I scored in the top half of my age group twice this season!
Also went from not being able to run without walking to running non-stop during 70.3s.

What were some of your biggest improvements in performance for each of the following? Swim, Bike, Run, and Nutrition/Health.

Swim: I can swim now! I learned how to swim.

Bike: my FTP went from 180 to 240 (measured with 20 min FTP tests).
And my times went from a 3:30 bike to sub 3hr for 56 miles.

Run: I went from running 10-11 min miles for a half marathon distance with a 180 heart rate to doing the same pace in 100+ degree weather with a heat rate of sub 170.

Name 2 or 3 things that have made the biggest difference in your journey:

    1. Having a good support base. This wasn’t always the case, but with hard work and persistence, a good base can be built with the people around you.
    2. Consistent training!
    3. I lost 15 pounds by eating real food!

What excites you the most about being involved in running/triathlon?

Climbing the mountain because the mountain is there! And being connected to a fun-loving, active community!

What would you say to another person who was on the fence about joining our training program?

Do it! It will be awkward at first as you learn new skills but you don’t know what you don’t know.

Having Erinne point these things out is invaluable!

  • Show and Tell!

    Show and Tell!

Way back in the day, I remember show & tell being one of my favorite days in school.

The thing I want to show and tell about is my passion for my Full Circle Coaching community.  I’ve been building this tribe for over 10 years, and I am super proud of how far we’ve come and where we are right now.

I’m a big believer in “like attracting like” and “practicing what I preach” by being an example to others. This is how I’ve been able to grow and thrive in this community, even in the situation we’re in right now as well as, watching each and every one of my members grow.

I thrive on keeping up the joy, happiness and inspiration of what triathlon and healthy living can do for your life and bringing this happiness to others.

Practicing being here and now, by focusing on what we do have control over in our daily lives, how we show up, what we are thinking, what we eat and our daily training habits can have a huge impact on ourselves and the world around us.

I can’t wait to hear what you want to show and tell with me!

    So, wanna play?

I want to know the thing you are most proud of or most passionate about!

So, reply to this post in the comments below a picture of that thing and tell me why you’re proud of or passionate about it!

I truly want us to get to know each other, I can’t wait to see yours!

  • Do you “Monday” Your Goals?

    Do you “Monday” Your Goals?

In the history of procrastination, there’s no better time than Monday.

    • “I promise, Coach, I’ll see you starting on Monday.”
    • “My diet starts Monday – after one last weekend of fun.”

    Sound familiar?

Maybe this explains why more people hit the gym or the running trails on Monday, after a weekend of lying around and overindulging.

But whether you use the Monday excuse or tell some other lie to yourself, it’s all the same. When you procrastinate working on your goals, it means you’re not really ready to do the work.

Because when you are? You go into immediate action.

    Monday’s a liar.

Trust yourself. Begin your work. No matter what day it is.

It just so happens to be Monday! So today is the day to take action!

Set up a call with me to see how I can help you with your triathlon and health and wellness goals!
