Busy Dad becomes first time Ironman in 12:10 with only 14 weeks of training; Rockstar Triathlete Carlos Guadamuz

    Coach’s Notes:

Thank you, Carlos, for trusting the process of my 16-week Triathlon Transformation training program. You are proof that it works and achieved the goal in 14 weeks instead of 16. I truly appreciate your dedication to your goals and how you managed all the training while working full-time, getting to the kid’s soccer games, and balancing life with your supportive wife! You, indeed, are a Rockstar Triathlete!

    Congratulations!

Why you chose FCC to help you on your triathlon/health and wellness journey?

I wanted to compete in my first Ironman, and I felt I needed coaching for a race as big and complex as the Ironman.

I did my first 70.3 last December 2021 with zero coaching, and although I didn’t have a bad time, I didn’t feel I was at my full potential and the experience was a bit painful.

So, rather than a feeling of accomplishment when I finish it, I had a lot of doubts and “what ifs” in my head. In my own view, the best way to prove myself that I am better than that was to finish a full Ironman. However, this time around I was going to do it with a coach.

I saw coach Erinne giving the pre-race clinic at Miami-Man 2021 and liked everything she said. I also saw her on race day surrounded by her team, all wearing the same colors, which made me appreciate from afar the team spirit and the confidence of having a coach. That positive image stayed in my mind when it was time to choose a coach.

What is your “A” race for this season?

My A-race was Ironman Florida, 2022, because it was my first Ironman. However, the Key Biscayne triathlon last September (international distance) was also a good race because it gave me, entirely unexpectedly, my first podium.

Ironman Florida was a significant achievement because it gave me a lot of “firsts;” my first ever Ironman, my first ever 112-mile ride, and my first ever marathon. To me, it was also an important achievement because I am quite new to triathlons. My first ever triathlon race was MiamiMan, less than a year ago, and my longest triathlon was Ironman 70.3 FL, in December last year (11 months ago). I actually rode a road bike for the first time only 18 months ago and bought my first triathlon bike in May (less than 6 months ago). My only advantage was swimming, as I have swum since I was little, with my first open water competition at the age of 10.

Also, Ironman Florida was a big achievement for me, not only because of those new challenges but also because I only had 14 weeks to go when I started training with Full Circle.

The Key Biscayne International distance triathlon was a total surprise in terms of the result.

I had a 9hr super day the weekend before and another long brick the day before. So, the complete opposite to going into the race fresh. I was actually tired on race day.

However, the objective was exactly that, to test me under those conditions. Also, to practice before Ironman all the elements of a race, mainly building and following a race plan. My plan demanded a fast pace, which I was doubting I could follow. However, I stayed on it during the race and it delivered a category second place. It was a good lesson I was going to take to Ironman Florida.

    Please share your BIG goals:

My goals were all based on Ironman FL and they were growing as I kept training. My initial goal was just to finish the Ironman because I was truly uncertain if I could do it.

Then, the goal was to finish it with zero walking during the run (which is something I did at the end of my 70.3).

Then it was the time, initially, it was based on the rule of thumb of doubling my 70.3 times and adding 1hr – I finished the 70.3 in 6:06 so the expected time was 13:12. As I was getting closer to the race I had to build a race plan, which estimated my finish time at 12:25

In the end, I finished with an Ironman time of 12:10, which beat my race plan estimate and was lower than twice my 70.3 time. Not only did I not walk but I achieved a negative split, running my fastest pace at the last 6 miles.

I felt so strong and determined that I didn’t need to stop at aid stations from mile 23rd onward.

Tell me about your successes so far:

I believe the results reflect the training. So, in my view, a key success was to be able to complete and follow all my training as was written by coach Erinne.

I never missed a single long-distance ride, run, or swim.

It was a big success not only because most of the last sessions I broke personal records in terms of distance and time – like my first ever 100-mile ride or my first 20-mile run.

But also because I was able to achieve those without injuries or extreme fatigue. That was a key success for me because it was one of my major fears. Especially after experiencing injuries in the past that made me stop training altogether.

I believe that completing successfully all the training was possible due to different elements.

First, the training plan, which had a progressive approach, included recovery sessions (stretches, foam rolling, etc.), and strength sessions and allowed for resting or down periods. Also, the focus on good technique reduced the injury risk. And then the personal guidance and experience from the coach helped alleviate specific muscle pains when they surfaced, providing tips on technique, and instructing focused strength and stretching exercises.

What were some of your biggest improvements in performance for each of the following: Swim, Bike, Run, and Nutrition / Health.

    1. The Running – based on my 70.3 experience and previous injuries, I considered it my weakest link. However, I surprised myself with my Ironman run.

    2. Nutrition – It was the biggest eye-opener for me. I went from just basically drinking water and eating a couple of gels, to building a race plan with calories, carbs, and electrolytes per hour.

    3. Training Capacity – I wasn’t sure I was going to complete what I saw in Training Peaks, but I did it all

    4. Technique – overall improvement especially on the run but even on the swim which was my strongest sport.

What excites you the most about being involved in triathlon?

For sure the example I am giving my kids. Which I am fully convinced is the best way to lead.

The best way to explain this is through an experience with my older boy. He was nine when I finished my 70.3 and not long after that, he came to me with a website showing a triathlon race for kids and asking me to register him. We started training for two months with very little pushing from my side. He got a good result and we all felt very proud of his achievement.

What would you say to someone on the fence about joining our training program?

As I mentioned before it was the team spirit that caught my initial attention. Full Circle has been able to build a community of people with the same passion, where everybody can help and encourage someone with a question or moment of doubt. I also learned so many things that were crucial to finish my first Ironman, like technique, training methods, nutrition, and overall wellness.

  • 1st Place in his 1st Olympic distance Triathlon- Joseph Brittain, Rockstar Beginner Triathlete

1st Place in his 1st Olympic distance Triathlon- Joseph Brittain, Rockstar Beginner Triathlete

    Coaches Notes:

I am so impressed with Joseph and his triathlon journey over the last 8 weeks.

We met at the Ride on Ryan Sprint Triathlon in Savannah, Georgia, which, as you all know, is the race I am part of to honor the memory of my deceased boyfriend, Ryan Williams.

Every year we get beginner triathletes to cross the line, falling in love with triathlon just as much as Ryan did. This year, I offered a raffle for my eight-week beginner tri program, and Joseph won!

He did all the training, asking questions and showing up at the coach’s calls to reach his goal of an Olympic Distance Triathlon.

Not only did he complete it, but he got 1st in his age group!

WOO HOO! Ryan would be so proud as am I and Full Circle Coach Ollie Garcia, who is head coach for the beginner tri group program!

You are a Rockstar Triathlete, Joseph- I can’t wait to see what’s next for your triathlon journey!

    What is your age?
    29

    What is your profession?:
    Civil Engineer in Savannah, GA

Why did you choose FCC to help you on your triathlon/health and wellness journey?
I met Coach Erinne and Coach Ollie at the Ride on Ryan Sprint Triathlon in Savannah in May 2023.  They were very easy to talk to and even gave me a few tips before the race. I had done a couple sprints, but I knew I wanted to complete my first Olympic triathlon ASAP. I jumped at the opportunity to be able to work with Coach Erinne and Coach Ollie when I saw Full Circle was offering an 8-week training program at the charity silent auction.

What is/ was your “A” race for this season?
Game on! St. Augustine Olympic Triathlon last week. Hopefully, I’ll set a new “A” race in stone soon.

    What are your BIG goals?
I try to not get too far ahead of myself, but I certainly want to complete my first marathon and first half ironman soon.

Tell me about your successes so far!
I started taking my fitness journey seriously in January 2022. I was initially trying to lose weight and get in better shape for an upcoming ski trip.  That is when I signed up for my first 5K race since high school. I really enjoyed the challenge and competition and have been progressively taking on bigger and bigger challenges ever since.

It’s been very rewarding to be able to surprise myself each step along the way so far.  Losing 20 pounds (190 lbs to 170 lbs) is just icing on the cake so to speak.

What were some of your biggest improvements in performance for each of the following? Swim, Bike, Run, and Nutrition/Health.
Swim:  In my first couple sprints, I would swap to breaststroke to get my heart rate down and sight.  In my recent Olympic, I had better pacing / breathing, and swam in freestyle the whole time with no problem. My sighting is still a work in progress.

Bike: Thanks to the training plan and making the jump from a road bike to a triathlon bike.  I went from an 18.7 mph pace in my Sprint race in May 2023 to a 21-mph pace in my Olympic race in July 2023.

Run: I’ve made significant improvements since 2022 in the 5K (24:32 to 19:55) and 10K (± 50 min to 42:02). I also completed my first Half Marathon in January 2023 (1 hour 38 minutes) and completed my longest run ever during a 3-hour timed race in April 2023 (21 miles).

Name 2 or 3 things that have made the biggest difference in your journey:

    1. Following the Training Plan. Spending as much time swimming and biking, as I did running.
    2. Asking questions. I’m not too ashamed to admit that I didn’t know I needed to be cleaning my bike chain regularly.
    3. Group Training / Accountability.

What excites you the most about being involved in running/triathlon?
Being relatively new to the sport, I am excited about continuing to make connections with other people with similar goals or taking on similar challenges. I’m also excited about continuing to progress in my fitness journey and hopefully continuing to be surprised by what I’m able to accomplish.

What would you say to another person who was on the fence about joining our training program?
It was great being able to ask questions and get suggestions from someone with a lot of experience in Triathlon and Coaching. Coach Erinne and Coach Ollie really challenged me and some of the workouts were harder than I was used to, but it gave me a lot of confidence to know that I was prepared on race day.

  • Nutrition the key to Rockstar Claudia Coronado’s Running Success!

    Rockstar: Claudia Coronado

    Coaches Notes:

So proud of Claudia for completing her Mexico City 13.1. This is a challenging course at altitude and with hills. We first had to overcome some strength and injury setbacks. Runner’s knee (a common running injury) came up in training, which can happen when the volume of running is ramped up too quickly without the proper leg and core strength.

We backed off of training volume a few weeks, and implemented my Strength and Mobility Essentials strength training protocol for running, as well as video analysis to fine-tune her running technique.

This, combined with increasing her calories from quality nutrition in training and racing helped her achieve the goal of completing the race!!

Way to go, Claudia! You are a Rockstar Runner- Now let’s get that sprint tri in before the end of 2023! You got this!

    What is your age?
    51

    What is your profession?:
    Consultant for the hospitality Industry.

Why did you choose FCC to help you on your triathlon/health and wellness journey?
To improve my health and performance in sports, especially running. I realized it is always better to train with a team, and Full Circle Coaching is a great one.

What is/ was your “A” race for this season?
Mexico City Half Marathon, a few weeks ago.

    What are your BIG goals?
    Get faster in my running.
Space Coast 10 Mile Race in Cape Canaveral in December.
Improve my swimming, biking, and running technique and do my first Sprint triathlon.

Tell me about your successes so far!
My biggest success is to believe in myself, and THANK’S to you (Coach Erinne) and Coach Ollie I’m more confident and know that I can do whatever I can imagine!!! Running the Mexico Half Marathon was a great accomplishment because of all the difficulties that this race has. Running at altitude and on hills really challenged me.

What were some of your biggest improvements in performance in your running?
I learned a better way to run in all aspects. I improved my 1-mile run test from 10:59 to a 9:55, a big Personal Record (PR) for me.

Name 2 or 3 things that have made the biggest difference in your journey:

    1. Training with the Full Circle Coaching Team.
    2. A personalized plan to train for this race.
    3. Holistic approach: Information received not just about the sports but health & nutrition.

What excites you the most about being involved in running/triathlon?
To have the discipline to be able to accomplish my goals. I feel happy and strong when I run; it is my own time.

  • 12:06 Roth Ironman in 12 weeks – Rockstar Tim Dare

    Rockstar Tim Dare

    Coaches Notes:

Tim got started very late with his training for Ironman Roth, but since we have worked together before, I knew he had so much race skill from years of racing and training for long endurance events. I was sure that if he got serious he would be fine to achieve the goal of finishing strong and feeling good.

Since he lives in Savannah, Georgia, and is a busy dad and physician assistant, a detailed, organized training plan that is simple to follow was key. Almost all of his 12 weeks in training peaks calendar was green and he even lost an extra 10 lbs to make racing that much easier. Way to go, Tim, 12:06 is fantastic. You are a Rockstar Triathlete! Now we are on to North Carolina 70.3 with a sub 5-hour goal time! Let’s Go!

Full Circle Coaching and Erinne have been a part of my life and training for over 20 years.  There is no replacement or better team for me in preparing for all the adventures I choose to challenge myself with from all distance triathlons, including 3 Ironman triathlons, 100 mile mountain bike races, including (Buckling) Leadville x 2, or even just the challenges of life….Erinne and her team have been there….all in!

What were some of your most significant improvements in performance?
I got started training for Roth very late. Erinne put together a training program for me, and in 3 months, I got close to my PR (Personal Record) from 10 years ago.

I completed Roth in 12:06, feeling amazing the whole race.

Using her holistic nutrition suggestions, I also lost 10 pounds without sacrificing energy for the long training sessions.

Name 2 or 3 things that have made the biggest difference in your journey:

    1. Staying Healthy by following my training plan and paying attention to my numbers
    2. Staying Healthy by having balance in my life

  • Never-Quit-Norcini Rockstar Triathlete

    Never-Quit-Norcini Rockstar Triathlete

    Coaches Notes:

I LOVE Marty’s approach to Ironman training and racing. Once he makes a commitment, he shows up 100% even when things go wrong. He never throws in the towel and takes action immediately to find a solution.

A neuroma popped up on his ramp-up to Ironman Roth Training, but that did not hold him back from getting the necessary training. We were able to train the volume in his run on the elliptical instead of beating his foot up on the road, and he went and raced Ironman Roth successfully with a walk/ run.

Congratulations, Marty- you are a Rockstar Triathlete. Let’s strengthen those feet and eliminate the neuroma for the next one!

    What is your age?
    63

    What is your profession?:
    Financial Advisor

Why did you choose FCC to help you on your triathlon/health and wellness journey?
Reputation for having great coaches and group training with a team.

What was your “A” race for this season?
    Challenge Roth, 2023

    What are your BIG goals?
To maintain good physical condition through the rest of my life so that I can stay involved with triathlons indefinitely.

Tell me about your successes so far!
As I get older, successes get redefined. Not getting injured during training is the biggest challenge. Being able to start a full distance Ironman feeling in optimal condition is “as good as it gets”.

What were some of your most significant improvements in performance?

    • Swim: Swimming is where I see my biggest improvement. Not just based on pace, but also feeling that my form is improving a little bit after each training session.
    • Bike & Run: Both bike and run performance have been hampered by my foot neuroma. Biking at a higher cadence has helped ease the foot pain, and running with more forward lean has shifted the landing pressure point and extended the time before the neuroma pain really sets in. Both higher bike cadence and running lean are techniques that Erinne has always stressed, but it took an injury to realize that they work!

Name 2 or 3 things that have made the biggest difference in your journey:

    1. Trust the coaches, they really know what they are doing.
    2. Recover when your plan tells you to or your body will force it to happen!
    3. No more than 2 beers a day LOL.

What excites you the most about being involved in triathlon?
The support I feel with everyone training together and supporting each other!

What would you say to another person who was on the fence about joining our training program?
The coaches know how to get anyone across the finish line. With all of their collective coaching experience, they can provide a customized training program to match any personal goal.

  • Daring Triathlete Swims With Sharks To Escape From Alcatraz

Daring Triathlete Eric Goldman Swims With Sharks To Escape From Alcatraz

    Coaches Notes:

Eric reached out after discovering he won the lottery for an entry into the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon. Now, that is a very challenging race course in so many ways: Jumping off a barge into the ice-cold shark-ridden waters of San Fransisco Bay, the steep climbs on the bike and run, and the sand ladder on the run- It can be intimidating to think about.

Eric was a 100% yes on accepting this challenge and I’m so grateful he chose Full Circle Coaching and my Triathlon Transformation training program for the journey.

We got right to work making some lifestyle changes to perform and handle the training. Video analysis on the swim and run, along with a professional bike fit with Coach Dennis, and some equipment upgrades to make training more enjoyable were all included in the process.

Eric was so coachable and eager to learn, and I was blown away at how quickly his skills in everything improved, and I have the before and after video to prove it! He improved his swim technique and speed, bike power, and skill for climbing, and ran faster and stronger with less walking.

We practiced all his new swim, bike, and run skills in a sprint race and then an olympic race, which were both PR’s, on the way to ALcatraz.

He also joined us last minute at our 6-day Ultimate Tri Camp at the end of February, which helped him quickly improve into a better athlete.

Check out Eric’s comments below……. He did it! The entire tribe is so incredibly proud of you, Eric! You are genuinely a Rockstar Triathlete. I hope you consider maintaining the triathlon lifestyle- Way to go; super proud of you!

    What is your age?
    45

    What is your profession?:
Water Sales and Sports League Owner (Ultimate Frisbee)

Why did you choose FCC to help you on your triathlon/health and wellness journey?
Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon was a bucket list event for me for more than ten years.  I had done a few Olympic and sprint triathlons while training myself with no knowledge.  I had a major panic attack on the last one before the swim started.  I was able to complete that race but swore off triathlons forever after that.

Or so I thought…… Then came the email that I had finally won the lottery for The Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon, and I knew I just had to do it!

I was in a very serious depression and it must have been a sign to get my ass back into life and what better way to do it than training for a ridiculously difficult triathlon!

I knew I needed help for this one, and after one call with Erinne, I knew I was in the right hands! Erinne was super friendly, knowledgeable, and reassuring that I could get to the place I needed to be to slay that dragon in less than five months.

What was your “A” race for this season?
    Escape from Alcatraz

    What are your BIG goals?
To see the whole picture of life and charge through any obstacles that come my way!

Tell me about your successes so far!
In three races (including Alcatraz), under the tutelage of FCC I have set two PR’s and conquered my main objective. In Alcatraz, I was so prepared I was able to complete the course without stopping and felt so strong the whole race.  I was able to overcome all setbacks that presented themselves in the race without being overwhelmed by them.  I took them with a grain of salt and kept moving forward towards my goal.  A lesson I will take with me EVERYWHERE!

What were some of your most significant improvements in performance for each of the following?
Swimming.  I had no idea I didn’t know how to swim.  During Alcatraz, the current was super strong.  We all swam way more than we were supposed to.  I ended up swimming 3 miles when 1.5 would have sufficed, Lol.  I  had no idea I swam that much until I looked at my watch.  I still felt super strong and could have swum more.  I guess I know now an Ironman swim is no big deal!

Name 2 or 3 things that have made the biggest difference in your journey:

    1. Mind set
    2. Community (FCC family)!!!
    3. Training and knowledge

What excites you the most about being involved in triathlon?
The community, the struggle, the perseverance, the victories!!

What would you say to another person who was on the fence about joining our training program?
If you need help achieving your goals then Erinne and her amazing staff will have you in good hands!

  • Rockstar Triathlete Sara Jimenez

    Triathlon Rockstar: Sara Jimenez

    Coaches Notes:

What a transformation! I am so proud of Sara AKA “ARA”. When we first spoke she was very sad and upset from her lack of energy and terrible experience at her last 70.3. This is not a fun place to be and I can speak abut this from my own experience. Getting burned out in the sport of triathlon is SO common yet not talked about. This is a major problem that can be completely avoided by following my holistic approach to triathlon training.

I’m so happy Ara joined my 16-week Triathlon Transformation Program and transform she did! Read about her journey to faster times in all 3 sports and the added side effects of 15 lb weight loss and tons of energy at 70.3 Victoria.

Way to go Ara – excited to help you qualify for the Boston Marathon Next! Woohooo!!!!!!

    What is your age?
    50

    What is your profession?:
    Architect, Project Manager

Why did you choose FCC to help you on your triathlon/health and wellness journey?
I was looking for a group to train with that would motivate me and hold me accountable to show up and follow through on my training plan. I also was looking for structured weekly training sessions where I could feel comfortable and welcomed.

What was your “A” race for this season?
Victoria 70.3 a few weeks ago.

    What are your BIG goals?
Keeping my body healthy while enjoying every phase of my life, training, work and family while training for a 70.3. Waking up with no pain and having energy throughout the day. Qualifying for Boston won’t be too bad either 😋

Tell me about your successes so far!
I successfully completed Victoria 70.3 with lots of energy and really enjoyed the race. My swim was comfortable and the bike and run, super fun!

Overall, I surpassed my own time goals, but most importantly, I enjoyed the experience and fell in love with the sport again.

I have gotten faster on the swim, bike and run. The swim is my biggest struggle and I have better form and I keep continuously improving.

What were some of your most significant improvements in performance for each of the following?

    • Swim: I feel more comfortable, and I went down from 9:29 / 400 to 8:42 / 400.-
    • Bike: I went from 98 W Normalized power in Acapulco 70.3 to 141 normalized power in Victoria.
    • Run: I went from running 13.47 min/mile in July of 2022 to 10:45 mi/mile in June 2023.
    • Nutrition / Health: Without having a specific goal, I lost 15 pounds from July of 2023 to April of 2023

Name 2 or 3 things that have made the biggest difference in your journey:

    1. A group of energetic people that helps me keep get and stay motivated.
    2. Simple changes in nutrition and lifestyle have made a huge difference in my weight and energy.

What excites you the most about being involved in triathlon?
Feeling strong and energetic, and seeing progress every day.

What would you say to another person who was on the fence about joining our training program?
Just try it, the first step is the most difficult one.

Thanks so much for choosing Full Circle Coaching for your triathlon journey and bringing your husband, Jose Alvarez, along for the ride!

You both are an incredible team and asset to the Full Circle Coaching Tribe!

    What is your age?
    62 years young

    What is your profession?:
    Retired

Why did you choose FCC to help you on your triathlon/health and wellness journey?
I joined FCC in February of 2022. I am the type of person that needs one-on-one coaching and I wanted to work with head coach Erinne Guthrie. I had seen her throughout the years in local triathlon clinics here in Miami. I knew how knowledgeable a triathlon coach she was and I had no doubt in my mind that I would be in good hands. Once I joined FCC, I learned that not only did I have head coach Erinne as my coach but also three other triathlon specific coaches! Coaches Ollie, Dennis and Nico are very knowledgeable and they are actively competing as well. That is priceless!

What is your “A” race for this season?
I have two “A” races left this year. Ironman 70.3 North Carolina 10/21/2023, and Clash Daytona Long Course AquaBike 57.2, 12/5/2023, qualifier for Team USA Long Course Championship.

    What are your BIG goals?
Swim at less than 2:00/100, Bike at an average of 20 mph, and Run at less than 10:30/mile for a 5k. Qualify for Team USA Long Course AquaBike ITU Worlds in Townsville, Australia, 2024

Tell me about your successes so far!

In 2023, I have completed the Miami Half Marathon, Clash Miami Sprint Distance, Ironman 70.3 Puerto Rico, Swim Miami 2023, the 305 Triathlon Sprint Distance (getting 2nd place in my AG F60-64 in the State of Florida), the 2023 USAT Nationals Olympic Distance in Milwaukee.

What were some of your biggest improvements in performance for each of the following? Swim, Bike, Run, and Nutrition/Health. Please include any Personal Records and Goals achieved.

I swam 500 yards at 2:07/100 and ran a 5k at 10:14/ mile at the 305 Triathlon 2023. I did the same race back in 2022 swimming the 500 yards at 2:26/100 and running the 5k at 11:11/mile. That’s a huge improvement!

Now, looking at the USAT Nationals, I just completed the Olympic Distance in Milwaukee on 8/5/2023 in 3:31, beating my USAT Nationals 2018 in Cleveland, OH, which was 3:48. I did this dealing with an Achilles Tendon Injury.

I had been told to hold back during the run and even doing that I was able to cut my time down by 17 minutes!

One of my major improvements while being coached by FCC is how calm I am in Open Water. I met a fellow Athlete in Nationals 2023. She was freaking out about the swim. I realized that was me prior to joining FCC. I almost drown at age 7 but I did not want that experience to stop me from doing Triathlons. Coach Erinne and Coach Ollie have taught me to feel comfortable in the Ocean and, by embracing it, I am now calmer and at peace when doing Open Water Swimming. I am one step closer to reaching my goal.

Name 2 or 3 things that have made the biggest difference in your journey:

    1. I am improving my technique in all three sports.
    2. I am training with great coaches and teammates that encourage me to feel good about myself.
    3. I know how to plan my race, pacing myself and eating the right nutrition not only during but prior to the actual race.
    4. I know how to recover and take care of my body.
    5. I have regained the confidence that I had lost.

What excites you the most about being involved in triathlon?
Feeling great about my accomplishments no matter how hard it may be and being able to share it with my husband Jose and my Triathlon family. It is me against me!

What would you say to another person who was on the fence about joining our training program?
Wait no longer! Join us and find out for yourself what a great triathlon team FCC is.

  • Rockstar Alexandre Tagliari De Rosis

    Rockstar: Alexandre Tagliari De Rosis

    Coaches Notes:

I am super incredibly proud of Alex! Last year in 2022, he followed my Triathlon Transformation program and achieved all the goals he set for himself. He lost 70 pounds and completed a 70.3. The he disappeared, stopped training, and went back to eating poorly. He lost fitness and gained back some of the weight.

This year he came back with a new goal. To make this a lifestyle and not a diet plan to follow temporarily. He had a new goal of a sub 7 hour 70.3, and lose all the weight he gained back. Guess what? He did it! Eagleman 70.3 in 6:57 and lost a total of 110 pounds.

And he has already set his new goals for a sub 6 hour 70.3 and then a full Ironman in 2025. Way to go Alex, you are a true Rockstar Triathlete and a great example of never giving up and anything is truly possible! Thanks for choosing Full Circle Coaching!

    What is your age?
    45

    What is your profession?:
I graduated as a Business Administrator, always worked in the IT market, and for 16 years ran an IT integrator company in Brazil.

Why did you choose FCC to help you on your triathlon/health and wellness journey?
I met coach Erinne 2 years ago when I weighed a lot more but was ready and willing to do a half IM in 6 months. She supported me and made me confident I would accomplish my goal with the Triathlon Transformation program.

What is your “A” race for this season?
IM 70.3 North Carolina in October 2023

    What are your BIG goals?
Reduce my weight to under 200 lbs. (I was 330 lbs. and now I am at 220 lbs.) and finish a 70.3 in under 6 hours in 2024, then a Full Ironman in 2025.

Tell me about your successes so far!
It has been a long journey. It took a long time for me to understand I should trust the process, make better decisions in the short term to get benefits on the long term. I faltered after my first race and, regained weight, stopped training and it was hard to come back. But here I am, much more healthy and prepared not only for the Triathlon, but for life. The improvements I am experiencing in my life are amazing after making this commitment to myself.

What were some of your biggest improvements in performance for each of the following? Swim, Bike, Run, and Nutrition/Health. Please include any Personal Records and Goals achieved.

I lost 110 lbs, reduced my body fat from 40% to 20%, achieved a sub 7 hour 70.3 last weekend at Eagleman 70.3, and I am feeling better than ever.

Name 2 or 3 things that have made the biggest difference in your journey:

    1. Trust the process.
    2. Understand the time of the changes and how long it takes to the results to appear.
    3. Keep focus and persistence.

What excites you the most about being involved in triathlon?
The challenge of 3 sports together and the competition against myself to break my own limits.

What would you say to another person who was on the fence about joining our training program?
Jump in! Start now, as you are, with the tools you have and keep pushing. Anything is possible, believe!

  • Rockstar: Willy Larreal

    Rockstar: Willy Larreal

    Coaches Notes:

Willy dreams of qualifying for Kona, and I’m so psyched to be on this journey with him. When you are already fast and have lots of experience, it is MORE difficult to get even faster.

He has done a 12:30 IM Florida and a 11:15 IM Texas.

My system of getting someone faster is very contradictive to the mainstream way of coaching for the Ironman, and frankly, many athletes are afraid to go shorter and get faster, but that is my secret sauce, and guess what? It’s working.

With two PRs (Personal Records) already in the books since we started- we are headed to the next one at Ironman Maryland for a qualifying spot for Kona- Sub 10 is the goal!

Willy has had to get a bit out of his comfort zone by doing more testing and a different kind of training than before, as well as communicating more with his coach- Me! These are all pieces to a giant puzzle to his ultimate success- Ironman World Championships- Let’s do this, Willy!

    What is your age?
     39

    What is your profession?:
     I am a Civil Engineer

Why did you choose FCC to help you on your triathlon/health and wellness journey?
Erinne is a very experienced coach, and I am convinced that she will take me to achieve my big goal.

What is your “A” race for this season?
    Ironman Maryland

    What are your BIG goals?
Qualify for the Ironman World Championship in Kona

Tell me about your successes so far!
PR on the middle distance and PR on sprint distance, looking forward to racing the full distance in September.

What were some of your biggest improvements in performance for each of the following? Swim, Bike, Run, and Nutrition/Health. Please include any Personal Records and Goals achieved.
Improvement on the bike, I was able to complete the 56 miles on a 70.3 Ironman in 2:20 hrs.

Name 2 or 3 things that have made the biggest difference in your journey:

    1. I have completed different types of workouts in all three disciplines. Ones based more on technique and numbers make the training very exciting.
    2. Better nutrition and hydration and strength training specific to triathlon.

What excites you the most about being involved in triathlon?
Pushing myself physically and mentally every day and seeing the results.

What would you say to another person who was on the fence about joining our training program?
