Triathlete turned coach; Rockstar Ollie Garcia

    Coach’s Notes:

Who knew when Ollie hired me 2.5 years ago for her 1st 70.3 that I would now be calling her coach.

She had signed up and never even completed a sprint triathlon.

We only had 3 months, but we got her across the line in her first triathlon 70.3 wanting more!

Not gonna lie, she was a bit stubborn at first. She liked to stay up late and race after only 1 hour of sleep. The nutrition quality was pretty low as well.

But, when she wasn’t getting the results she desired from just training hard, she started to incorporate little changes in nutrition and lifestyle and the results started coming.

She has been on the podium a few times in short course races now and ready to go longer.

She was my team mate for RAAM, with only a few weeks of training since one of our #4cyclists4kids broke their shoulder, she joined the team late and she did an amazing job.

So happy to call her my fellow team mate and proud she is now a Full Circle Coach!

She has been through the ropes of my program just as all my athletes have and she now knows what is possible when you follow the plan and tweak it to make it your own. Way to go Ollie!

    Age:

13 at heart but chronologically 34.

    Profession:

USAT Level I, Triathlon Coach at Full Circle Coaching and an emergency room nurse.

What is your “A” race for this season?

    Daytona Half Ironman

Please share your BIG goals: Tell me about your successes so far: What were some of your biggest Improvements in performance for the each of the following? Swim, Bike, Run, and Nutrition/Health. Please include any Personal Records and Goals achieved:

Woah…. Badassery… Undeniably EPIC so far. Lol

Sooooo, I just finished RAAM! Race Across America, “The World’s Toughest Bike Race.” When I started this sport 1.5 years ago, little did I know I’d be cycling across America. “F*ck! Did I just do that… Yesssss!!

To be honest, I signed up to be support crew but manifested my way into being a cyclists for #4cyclists4kids pedaling to the finish line, and boy did I cross the finish line along with 3 of my peeps, all from @FullCircleCoaching who share the same passion as mine.

I was so excited but TERRIFIED when I got the official word I would be riding.

The what if’s… the I’m not good enough compared to others who’ve been doing this for years; Fudge monkeys I don’t know how to climb a damn mountain or descend one either… the doubts and fear of the unknown popped up in my mind.

However, throughout the time I’ve been part of Full Circle, I learned that it’s the norm for fears to pop up, but more importantly that there are so many ways and tools to fight or rather manage through them.

I couldn’t allow the fears to destroy my love for cycling and sight seeing the USA at its best!

Plus, I got to be part of something bigger; helping kiddos be placed in safe and loving homes with family.

It’s an opportunity for them to learn to manage trauma and any fear of abandonment or, just loss of self worth. I mean if I could help a kid gain a chance to find a way to love themselves and become who they want to become with the proper support, that to me is worth everything in this world.

That’s the thought that encouraged and helped me get through my training and the race itself.

Training for this race was completely different than the 70.3’s, Sprints, and Olympics I had competed in over the last year.

Yes, it was so epic being able to ride 100 miles, 7 days straight and just do over 70 miles every other day or so, before that.

I felt so much stronger and my body could handle the volume.

Time outside of training was minimal so I had to choose wisely how I spent it.

I made sure my nutrition was on point in order to do all of this and I had to invest in myself by eating as organically and clean as I could.

I had to make sure my on bike nutrition was flawless (Vitargo, Bodyhealth electrolytes, endless supply of organic baby food, salt tablets- no gels or bars.

Thank you Endurance Tap for the boost up the mountains and rolling hills in the middle of the night with the fireflies).

I had to find the proper rest when I could between training and work. When it was race time, my body was able to be on the go, go.

It wasn’t easy and the logistics of the race had its flaws that were beyond my control but I got to experience cycling and mother nature at its best while gaining so much confidence in my future.

This race has taught me that being WISE is way better than trying to hit the pedals to the max every damn time.

I was able to keep going when it was rough because I knew when I could push and when I had to pull back to be ready for the next challenge. Just like any race, the more you teach yourself that it’s OKAY to not be hitting your max full throttle THE WHOLE DAMN TIME and waiting to press the trigger, the more likely you’ll be able to PR, survive longer than your competitors and eventually pass them.

Endurance training is not like a SPRINT, but you can incorporate the sprint in the right moments with the proper fuel.

After the race, and a few weeks of recovery, I did my bike test and increased my FTP (Functional Threshold Power) from 176 to 188 and my new goal is to get over 200.

Funny thing is, I didn’t even train for speed or threshold for this race. All I did was ride mostly zone 2/3 over the weeks before the race and during, yet I still improved my watts.

Lets be real for a second, who doesn’t want to go 24 plus mph ALL THE DAMN TIME!? But I have learned that doesn’t equate to higher power numbers or better race results.

A few other things I have learned:

Riding in a group and drafting does not develop my own cycling power and skills. It’s a great addition to my training but it can’t be the only thing.

My other success is that I learned how to ride into the wind by holding higher RPMS with easier gears to produce more power and hold it (damn right) rather than struggling with my legs with a harder gear and lower RPMS

What I’ve noticed is that most people are scared when they see the WINDS MPH written on the weather channel app. They won’t go swim or bike, f*ck that, DIVE RIGHT IN! It actually isn’t as bad as it seems when you’re into the workout. If it is, there are tricks. I’ve learned to be mentally okay with cutting my session short because my MPH was lower than the normal but fuck… I’m faster than before with more confidence.

Also, I learned how to cope with the fear of being blown away or feeling the bike move under me. Deep breathing, reminding myself I am safe and in control. I know how to sit and where to add pressure to the bike if needed but never stop breathing deep! You too can do that guys (and girls), it’s not comfortable in the moment, but practice will make it so worth it.

Currently, I’m getting ready for Cozumel 70.3 and Daytona 70.3.

For Cozumel my main focus will be swim and bike.

Daytona will be a test for how I adapt in all 3 sports. I’ve been healing from a foot injury and have learned how to manage the stress it can take with the training.

I was hesitant in doing the races post RAAM, but the more I work on my strength and mobility (sometimes I’ll shorten my workout to do so) the more I realize it is possible.

Name 2 or 3 things that have made the biggest difference in your journey:

    1. Clean Nutrition and SLEEP!
    2. Working on my self worth/ confidence.
    3. DRILLS! Holy crap, if it weren’t for them I think I wouldn’t have improved my swimming in such a short time. Running; the drills and form is what got me back to running with no issue on top of the strength work. That’s why I can run more effectively and still be pretty fast with the lack of training I had. For Cycling; those one legged drills (I’VE SLACKED ON THEM and I tried it out this week and I already see a difference. Kind of excited to see how much stronger I can get doing the drills for not too long during my workouts)!

What excites you the most about being involved in triathlon?

    Being able to defy limits.

What would you say to another person who was on the fence about joining our training program?

I’m a coach at Full Circle, but I started off as a beginner triathlete.

I loved it so much I wanted more.

I have learned and now teach that at Full Circle Coaching it’s more than just getting a workout plan.

It’s pretty cool to have others who share the same passion as you, surround you and help keep you accountable.

We focus on technique and form, and science based training.

Most of our athletes PR consistently and that’s the key, getting better and better and continuing to grow and improve.

We actually care as coaches and we always want to see you improve across every finish line, not just crossing ONE FINISH LINE.

We coach our athletes, but we also train and race, so we teach what we learn ourselves and include that with more education and personal experience for you.

That’s more important than just a certification and teaching you stuff because it’s in a book. We keep it real for you.

So YEAH! If you’re wanting to push through your doubts and fears, gain confidence, cross a finish line or 5, PR at your next race or just chill with the Tribe and have funskiez… JOIN US!

  • Rockstar Triathlete: Christine Coppola is back!

Rockstar Triathlete: Christine Coppola is back!

    Coach’s Notes:

Christine is such a Rockstar Triathlete. We heard from her a few weeks ago regarding her nutrition transformation and here she is again getting within 15 minutes of her PR at the 70.3 distance at Eagleman 70.3 last weekend, after taking a few years off from the sport.

She raced Puerto Rico 70.3 in March finishing with a 5:54 and now at Eagleman in June she raced with a 5:33 Finish; the girl is back and on her way to accomplish a new PR of sub 5:15 before the end of 2022!

The big secret Christine figured out is that action creates motivation. She started training with us and the improvement and confidence just keeps growing. The results speak for themselves. Way to go Christine!

    Profession:

Why you chose FCC to help you on your triathlon/health and wellness journey?

I tried many times unsuccessfully to get back into endurance sports after taking time off. Each time I got frustrated and found it hard to balance personal, professional and sports- So I reached out to Full Circle Coaching.

What is your “A” race for this season?

I had Eagleman 70.3 as an “A” race, but now going to go for another 70.3 for the end of 2022

    Please share your BIG goals:

I want to hit my former 70.3 PR of 5:15, go sub-5 for my next 70.3 after that and then get back to full Ironman distance racing again. I also want to complete the Alligator Swim solo in September.

Tell me about your successes so far:

Trying to get back to triathlon was frustrating for me. I took so much time off that I was in really bad shape. My eating habits were terrible too. With the help of Full Circle Coaching, however, I was able to get back, get over my fear on the bike, clean up my nutrition and come within ~15 mins of my PR in just 6 months.

What were some of your biggest Improvements in performance for the each of the following? Swim, Bike, Run, and Nutrition/Health. Please include any Personal Records and Goals achieved:

    1. 1st Place, 2021 Alligator Lighthouse 8 mile swim, 2 person relay

  • Rockstar Triathlete: Camila Lupi has Fallen in Love!

    Rockstar Triathlete: Camila Lupi

    Coach’s Notes:

So incredibly proud of Camila over the last 6 months. She went from never completing a triathlon ever, to getting on the podium in two short course races and finishing top 10 in her age group last weekend at the Hawaii 70.3 as part of my Triathlon Transformation Training Program.

When she first started we had lots of skills and technique work to teach as well as strength, mobility and nutrition, to dial in for her best performances. Since Camila travels a lot, she had the foundation she needed to keep training with specificity despite not always being with the group in Miami.

Also the amount of fitness and strength gained at Ultimate Tri Camp in March was a game changer.

Way to go Camila! You are truly a Rockstar Triathlete. I cannot wait to see what’s next for you.

    Age:

    25

    Profession:

    Active travel guide

Why you chose FCC to help you on your triathlon/health and wellness journey?

I used to train with FCC a few years back for running only. From that experience, I knew how much Erinne and the coaches knew about the sport and really agreed with the way the coaching program focused on technique, form, and “training smarter, not harder.”

I didn’t know anything about triathlon when I decided to start, so I knew a coaching program that could get me into the sport properly and teach me how to train correctly and smartly was the best choice!

What is your “A” race for this season?

My “A” race was Hawaii Ironman 70.3 last weekend – figuring out what the next A race is.

    Please share your BIG goals:

Get better, stronger, and faster in the sport of triathlon – break 6 hours for a 70.3 and do a full Ironman.

Tell me about your successes so far:

Just starting triathlon and racing have been huge successes for me. I did my first three races this year and placed very well in all of them, getting a podium spot on my first two.

My big goal was to complete an Ironman 70.3 and I just succeeded in crossing the finish line there!

I’ve improved in each of the three sports. “I’d say my biggest success is falling in love with the sport of triathlon” and truly wanting to turn it into a lifestyle.

What were some of your biggest improvements in performance for the each of the following? swim, bike, run, and nutrition/health. Please include any Personal Records and Goals achieved:

I got better in all three sports.

I Improved my swim technique a ton and felt way more comfortable in the water.

On the bike, I’m slowly conquering my fear of descents after a bike crash last year, which helped me improve my speeds and times in races. I was able to average 20mph during my first olympic distance race that included the Key Biscayne bridge.

My run times improved. My first mile test back in December was 7:09. My mile a few months later at the beginning of April was 6:29. I was able to hold paces under 8:30 min/mile for sprint and olympic distance races.

I placed third female overall in my first ever triathlon (a sprint distance). I placed first in my age group on my first olympic distance triathlon. Most recently, I placed 10th in my age group in my first Ironman 70.3 in Hawaii.

Name 2 or 3 things that have made the biggest difference in your journey:

    1. People. Being around other inspiring and motivating triathletes. Hearing about their journeys, struggles, and successes. Having people to train with. Having people supporting you before and at races.
    2. Proper nutrition and strength training

What excites you the most about being involved in triathlon?

Chasing goals. I’ve been an athlete my entire life and there’s nothing like having a big goal and working hard until you reach it. Triathlon is one of the most, if not the most, challenging sports there is.

I love that I never get bored because I get to train three different sports. I love being around triathletes because we all just want to push ourselves to our limits and believe we can accomplish big goals.

The sport teaches me to never doubt myself. It has shown me what I’m capable of, physically yes, but more importantly, mentally.

I notice that I’m able to translate that into other areas of my life, chasing goals and believing in myself no matter what I set out to do.

What would you say to another person who was on the fence about joining our training program?

If you want to get into triathlon, have a big dream or goal you’re not sure you can reach, having coaches who know the right way to train and have years of experience in the sport, and having a support group and amazing community like Full Circle Coaching is the best way to do it. Give it a few weeks, maybe even days, and you won’t doubt your decision.

It’s a really inspiring group to be a part of and you’ll learn A LOT.

    Coach’s Notes:

What a journey the last 2 years has taken us on and the results speak for themselves!

I know the training and coaching program I offer here at Full Circle Coaching works, but to see it in action over the last 2 years up close with Coach Jac has been simply awesome.

Jac, is so dedicated and shows up week after week, even when it was different and not what she was used to. Doing less volume to now have more energy, to change the way you fuel the body and your lifestyle to support your racing and training goals is tough! I know I have challenged your beliefs about what is truly possible for yourself, but I hope you can see now that anything is possible and you are such a sexy Rockstar Triathlete!

I just want to say thank you so much for trusting the process, questioning everything and working together to get you where you are today! I could not be more proud of you!

    Age:

    25

    Profession:

Triathlon and strength and conditioning coach

Why you chose FCC to help you on your triathlon/health and wellness journey?

I didn’t choose Full Circle, Full Circle chose me!
I did choose Full Circle to work as a coach after earning my master’s degree in Exercise Physiology. But Full Circle chose me, in the sense that I did not realize that by working with and being a part of the team I would be fully transformed as an athlete myself.

What is your “A” race for this season?

Sprint Draft Legal World Championships on June 25

    Please share your BIG goals:

My “dream goal” race time for Worlds is to break 1:10. And is it crazy to say I want to place in the top 10, podium in my age group?!

Tell me about your successes so far:

    On May 8, I competed in my second race of 2022;
The Girlz on Fire Sprint Triathlon in Clermont.
I finished in 2nd place overall, 34 seconds behind 1st place.
This was my first time on the podium in the overall category.
I also ran a personal record for my 5k, 23:10, off the bike!

What were some of your biggest Improvements in performance for the each of the following? Swim, Bike, Run, and Nutrition/Health. Please include any Personal Records and Goals achieved:

Swim– I have been a swimmer for 20 years, so this is my strength. But taking videos of my swimming form at the beginning of the year has helped identify weaknesses in my stroke that I have been improving with drills. Using the swim catch and pull resistance bands has also improved my strength in the water.

Bike– My most recent power test was an all time best, FTP of 210 Watts
Coach Erinne also taught me how to do a flying mount at Ultimate Tri Camp. I’m loving using my power meter to do my intervals and getting comfortable pushing harder on the bike.

Run– I also have been taking videos of my running form and have significantly improved my run cadence by having cadence as a visible field on my Garmin watch. It surprises me how strong I am on the run, and getting faster, because I definitely have never identified myself as a runner, and still don’t always enjoy it!

I have been running with Altra sneakers for almost 2 years pain free, and also doing my lower leg strengthening (I had constant ankle pain running for 3+ years before FC).

Nutrition– This has been a huge one for me in the past 4 months. Participating in the Nutrition Essentials course has helped encourage me to eat real (not processed) organic foods, no added sugar, and to add some supplements to my routine like CreO2 and PerfectAminos.
I sleep better and have lots of energy to train hard usually twice a day and focus at work. I feel and look sexy 😉

Name 2 or 3 things that have made the biggest difference in your journey:

    1. Video analysis for form and technique correction, learning new skills
    2. The training program: swim, bike, and run field testing, believing in and giving energy to interval numbers for pace and power, and recovery
    3. Support and inspiration from the team of coaches and athletes

What excites you the most about being involved in triathlon?

The Full Circle tribe is a community I am grateful to be a part of.
Coaches and triathletes of all levels from beginner, to Ironman World Championship participants train together, support, teach, and learn from each other.
I am most excited to contribute and benefit from this community’s energy, inspiration, and motivation.

What would you say to another person who was on the fence about joining our training program?

Hop off the fence, join us, you won’t regret it! There is something in triathlon for everyone.
Whether you want to just be more active, be outside and enjoy nature more, or you do want to learn the skills and training philosophies to be competitive in racing, or anywhere in between, Full Circle Coaching is the perfect place for you.

It’s more than fitness. It’s friendship, a way of life! Rockstar Triathlete Ann Dolin

    Coach’s Notes:

Ann saw the information about Ultimate Tri Camp in the USA Triathlon Magazine and signed up a week before we started. I had no information about her at all, so seeing her swim bike and run on the first day we set her up in the appropriate s=training group she would get the most benefit from. Her improvement from Day 1 to Day 6 was awesome!

She decided she wanted more Full Circle Coaching and joined my Triathlon Transformation program. I only had a few weeks with her before she completed her first 70.3 at Gulf Coast. We new it would be a baseline performance and she did amazing although bummed the swim was cancelled.

Now we are training for Cozumel 70.3 in September with the time goals she set below.

I’m super excited because even though she is not local in Miami, she was able to attend Ultimate Tri Camp where we got video of her swim, bike and run and we now have a plan to improve her skills across the board.

She is dedicated and loves her new triathlon lifestyle. We are working on all aspects of her lifestyle so she can get the most out of her training without sacrificing her work and home life.

So happy you decided to take the leap and join us Ann!

  • Overall a Really Good Experience; Rockstar Triathlete Wendy Whitlow

Overall a really good experience; Rockstar Triathlete Wendy Whitlow

    Coach’s Notes:

Wendy, YOU DID IT, You’re a triathlete! As a total beginner Wendy is an awesome coachable athlete. Showing up to training and coach calls, taking notes asking questions, she was here for business.

She also had a lot of FEAR about what was possible for her.

As her coaches explained to her, skill and repetition yield confidence and motivation, with consistency you get better and better!

Such is the case with Wendy!

She mentions terrible results with regard to the amount of time parts of the race as compared with other athletes… but I want to remind you Wendy, this is a competition against yourself and seeing you come from zero to crossing the finish line was so sweet!

Please own that and never forget that you can do anything you set your mind to. Thanks for choosing Full Circle Coaching for your journey!

    Age:

    55

    Profession:

Training Manager at a call center

Why you chose FCC to help you on your triathlon/health and wellness journey?

It has been on my bucket list to complete a triathlon for over 5 years. After successfully losing a significant amount of weight… 150 pounds to be exact, with my best friend’s encouragement, we agreed to seek professional training. Her research led us to FCC.

What is your “A” race for this season?

    The Miami 305 Sprint TRI

    Please share your BIG goals:

Honestly my biggest goal was to make it out of the swim without having to be pulled out.

And if I made it out, my other fear was conquering the Rickenbacker Causeway bridge. I had only done it once with Coach Jacqueline. Well twice over and back. I freaked out and walked my bike down the remaining way and she stayed by my side on the return. So my goal was to successfully complete without her or my best friend.

Tell me about your successes so far:

I made it out of the water and over the bridge. Times were terrible but my run was decent.

What were some of your biggest Improvements in performance for the each of the following? Swim, Bike, Run, and Nutrition/Health. Please include any Personal Records and Goals achieved:

Name 2 or 3 things that have made the biggest difference in your journey:

    1. Speed and run drills helped improve my running
    2. While I still have panic in the water, I have a better understanding of the mechanics and believe with practice I will only get better.

What excites you the most about being involved in triathlon?

The ability to push myself beyond what my brain thinks I could accomplish and being around a community of other athletes that are so supportive.

What would you say to another person who was on the fence about joining our training program?

I say if you can afford the investment, it is worth it, especially if you live in the Miami area. I had hoped to spend more time training with others for the accountability. Virtual training is good if it’s what you have to work with but I like someone who can give immediate feedback or corrections. When alone I didn’t have that. Overall, a really great experience.

The group calls are great! I accomplished what I didn’t believe was possible. Especially with my swimming, learning to breathe properly is everything. I feel prepared and confident to complete a sprint distance triathlon!”

  • “This has been a great year” Rockstar Triathlete: Enrique Raphael

    Rockstar Triathlete: Enrique Raphael

    Coach’s Notes:

Enrique’s journey has been truly inspirational!

Definitely not a straight shot to the top, with a hamstring injury and a twisted ankle, he now knows how to listen to his body and train in a way that allows him to keep improving race after race. Losing 20 lb’s is also an added bonus!

From his first time on the podium in short course racing last year, his success at Ultimate Tri Camp in March and now his very first 70.3.

Although the swim was cancelled he delivered exactly as was expected for the bike and run, averaging 21 MPH for the 56 bike and 10 min/ miles for the 13.1.

Congratulations Enrique… let’s get the sub 6 hour 70.3 in the books this year. You are a Rockstar Triathlete!

    Age:

I will be 59 this year

    Profession:

    Engineer

Why you chose FCC to help you on your triathlon/health and wellness journey?

I met Erinne few years ago and I did the Swim Essentials and it was a good experience, then last year I decided to take triathlon more seriously registering for the NYC triathlon and I contacted her again; we went over the six month Triathlon Transformation Program and I became part of the FCC Tribe!

It has been an incredible year and I culminated it with the 70.3 Gulf Coast this past weekend.

What is your “A” race for this season?

My “A” race was the 70.3 this past weekend; now I have to think about the next one; probably another 70.3 this year.

    Please share your BIG goals:

After racing in Panama City, I am sure I can complete a 70.3 in less than 6 hours if I keep working and improving my technique and fitness; this is a sport of consistency and continuous learning!

Tell me about your successes so far:

This has been a great year; I was able to go from completing a Sprint Race back in May 2021 to the 70.3 last weekend.

Beyond the races I can say the major success is that I feel great, I am healthy and I am blessed with the life I have and the people I share it with.

What were some of your biggest Improvements in performance for each of the following? Swim, Bike, Run, and Nutrition/Health. Please include any Personal Records and Goals achieved:

Now I feel very confident swimming long distances in open water, I believe I am stronger on the bike, I have improved my running technique a lot and I have made some changes to my nutrition and my lifestyle because of all that I have learned through the year.

Name 2 or 3 things that have made the biggest difference in your journey:

    1. Being part of a team makes a big difference; besides all what we get from the coaches, everybody in the team adds value to your training with comments, recommendations, etc.
    2. Following a well designed program based on your capabilities and measuring your progress is key in improving your performance
    3. What we learn beyond the training: Nutrition, sleep, meditation, yoga, etc.; all are game changers!

What excites you the most about being involved in triathlon?

It is always something to learn, it is always a new challenge, It is always competing against yourself to be better, and despite being a one person sport, you are always surrounded and sharing with excellent people with the same kind of mentality and objectives.

What would you say to another person who was on the fence about joining our training program?

If you are committed to improving your health, your lifestyle and you are competitive, you are in the right place to join a great group of people thriving for the same.

  • Rockstar Nutrition: Christine Coppola

    Rockstar Nutrition: Christine Coppola

    Coach’s comments:

Christine is a rockstar triathlete who has completed half and full Ironmans but had gotten out of a training/eating rhythm that worked well for her.

I was thrilled when she wanted to learn more about how to approach training, racing and her lifestyle from a more holistic approach by joining my Nutrition Essentials

She is also a busy mom to a 4 year old, loving wife and successful executive with NBC. In other words busy and on the go!

Her success below is awesome because she didn’t force it or rush it.

She realized that small changes made over time had the best outcome.

She didn’t make every call and only attended for 30 minutes sometimes but went back and listened later when she had time.

With the online platform that is included you have all the information at your fingertips to use a resource on your own time. This is how it has to happen sometimes! And that is OK.

Sometimes to achieve the results we desire it takes a little longer, but the changes stick! You take the information given and tweak it to work for you all with my guidance and support!

So proud of you for all your hard work and success. Let’s keep it going on the way to your next big DREAM!

What positive results did you achieve during your Nutrition Essentials Course?

I was able to eat clean, drink more water and be more cognizant of my overall well being. I also learned a lot!

Did you lose weight or gain according to your desired goal?

    Yes!

If you lost or gained weight, how much?

    9 lbs

Was the program every thing you expected? Please explain:

Yes – it was actually more than I expected!

Did your thoughts about what is possible for your lifestyle change?

Definitely. It seemed so daunting and complicated when I tried to make changes alone, but this helped me break it down into manageable pieces. It also provided a forum to ask questions.

What was the easiest thing to implement and what did you have the most trouble with?

More water, less sugar, eating more balanced were easiest. I am still catching up/re reading on supplements info.

    Did your sleep pattern improve?

    Yes

Are you continuing to hydrate properly?

    Yes

What specific changes in your nutrition did you make?

I stopped using creamer in my coffee, went from 16 oz a day to 8 oz a day and using recipe for brain boost coffee. I am drinking more water. I am also using the approved foods list to shop and prep meals. Also not buying food with lots of ingredients and really checking sugar.

Would you recommend this course to others?

    Definitely

Did you clean up your toxic load? Please explain:

I am working on it! Starting with cleaning products then makeup hair etc.

  • Rockstar Triathlete Matthew Kuscher

    Rockstar Triathlete Matthew Kuscher

Coach’s Notes: Matt reached out to me after seeing one of our own- Jenny Lee Molina complete her first triathlon with us using our Beginner Triathlon Program.

He had zero experience in swim, bike or run. We got to work with evaluations first to assess any weaknesses, and find him a bike- which he borrowed from one of my other athletes (Thanks Jesse Jimenez!)

Due to the nature of the restaurant business and late nights, he could not make the early morning group training sessions, so we trained 1 on 1.

This is a great way to get the focused attention to learn to swim, bike and run quickly. After just 8 weeks he accomplished his goal 2 triathlons with a smile on his face, leaner healthier body.

Matt’s best compliment came when he said” I hate this stuff but for some reason I am enjoying the process so you must be doing something right!”

Thanks Matt for trusting us with your triathlon journey. CAn’t wait to see what’s next!

    Age: 43

    Profession: Restaurateur

Why you chose FCC to help you on your triathlon/health and wellness journey? I was inspired by my friend Jenny Lee Molina and her journey to her first triathlon with Full Circle Coaching on social media.

What is your “A” race for this season? My A race was just to complete my 1st triathlon. I did the Huntington’s disease race in February as a C race, (training race) and then the Clash Sprint Triathlon a few weeks later.

Please share your BIG goals: To start my journey of a healthier lifestyle

Tell me about your successes so far: I have completed 2 and have plans to complete two more by mid summer.

What were some of your biggest Improvements in performance for each of the following? Swim, Bike, Run, and Nutrition/Health. Please include any Personal Records and Goals achieved:

My 1st swim was very tough in the Huntington’s sprint triathlon, so I trained a little extra in the ocean and by my 2nd race, my swim was the easiest part even though it was twice the distance of the first race. I was proud of myself for that.

Name 2 or 3 things that have made the biggest difference in your journey:
    1. A healthier diet
    2. Accountability; having a coach push me to make sure I don’t slack.

What excites you the most about being involved in triathlon?
I never thought in a million years, I would do this kind of training and that’s what excites and motivates me to do it more. It’s still so foreign to me and that’s exciting.

What would you say to another person who was on the fence about joining our training program?
It’s great because you mix it up, you don’t have to love running, swimming or cycling but if you like each a little then every day you get to switch it up. I love not training the same thing every day so it never feels boring!
