  • Rockstar Lorri Bolander

    Coaches Notes:

Lorri is a true warrior. Despite getting COVID during our last 3 months of training for Ironman Florida, she was determined to do the race and finish strong.

We have been working for 1.5 years to achieve this goal and to have this setback sucked but we managed and the goal switched from finish in her best time possible which would have been 13-14 hours, it was finish before the cutoff.

Getting long-term breathing issues after COVID is mainly what held her back because she had already improved in all three sports significantly over the time we have trained together.

We kicked off the year in 2024 with Ultimate Tri Camp, which helped me and the coaches prepare Lorri for the Ironman Florida goal ahead. Nothing beats face-to-face time with an athlete since lorri lives in Key West.

From 4 Podiums, 20 lbs weight loss and finishing the Ironman. I am so Proud of you!

You are a true ROCKSTAR Triathlete Lorri

    Meet Lorri, 49-Year-Old Cosmetologist

Why did you choose FCC to help you on your triathlon/health and wellness journey?

I wanted a high level of education based triathlon training to help me achieve my goals.

What is your “A” race for this season?

    Ironman Florida, 2024

    What are your BIG goals?

    To finish strong

What were some of your biggest improvements in performance for each of the following? Swim, Bike, Run, and Nutrition/Health. Please include any Personal Records and Goals achieved.

I was able to learn, understand and implement much better form in all three sports. I was able to understand my body and what it truly needs to perform at the level I wanted.

Starting with nutrition to proper technique in all 3 sports, which improved my performance in everything. I was able to get stronger and faster all around.

Swim– I went from 2:25/ 100 to 2:00/ 100 swim pace. The video analysis really helped me understand what was slowing me down in my swimming technique. I completed both the swim around Key West and Aigator Lighthouse swim in very tough conditions as part of a relay feeling so confident in my swimming ability.

Bike- I improved my pedaling mechanics on the bike and worked hard at the weekly zoom bike rides to get stronger.

Run- Having the Run video evaluation helped me get faster and stronger in the run. I went from a 10:37 1 mile test down to a 9:29 1 mile run test.

Nutrition: I learned a lot form the Nutrition Essentials course and tried things I never thought I would to increase my energy and get leaner.

Races- This past year of 2024,  I hit the podium 3 times. A year ago at Miamiman got 1st place for 1/2 ironman. Then Key West Sprint Triathlon I got 2nd place.  And the Integrity Multisport sprint race end of July I got 2nd place too!

I did go to nationals as well,  and even got a recent email I made nationals again for 2025!

Ironman Florida 2024– Despite suffering from severe long covid symptoms I was able to finish Ironman Florida with a very tough time breathing. I did not give up and fought to the end to finish before the cutoff- in 16:25.  I’m incredibly proud of this accomplishment.

Name 2 or 3 things that have made the biggest difference in your journey

I enjoyed the support from the FFC community. Being in Key West I train alone so it’s nice to have a group to ask questions and hear what everyone else does . It kept me motivated when I needed the extra push and also made me feel not so alone when I had questions. The weekly zoom bike classes were also huge in building strength in power on the bike. Really felt the difference after each weeks class.

What excites you the most about being involved in triathlon?

For me, what excited me the most about triathlon is being able to do something not everyone can do.

To push my personal limits of what I didn’t think I could ever do. To also know I have so much more in me to give.

Also that I can keep learning, keep getting stronger and keep racing no matter how old I am.

What would you say to another person who was on the fence about joining our training program?

If you want to learn the proper way to train and have all the support you could ask for, then Full Circle Coaching is the route you should take.

You will understand your body through the nutrition and lifestyle coaching as well as learn the proper technique that will transform your body’s capability to preform the way you always wanted it to.

As far as having COVID and the long effects for over 3 months to say it was challenging is to put in mildly. I dug deep and really had mind over matter. Even if I didn’t want to do my workouts I did them or did to my best ability. I listened to my body when I didn’t have it in me. But I fought hard to keep up my workouts and keep positive continuously. I refused to give in and I have way more determination than anything else. Because of my coaches and everything i have been training for this past year I believed in my training and I knew i had the fitness In me to do the full Ironman I had only dreamed of finishing for so many years.

With the guidance of my coaches and their belief in me I just kept going.  The support was always there. The FFC community helps keep the positive vibes a constant.

In the past year I learned so much about my body through understanding the proper nutrition I needed to lean out and to be able to perform like a true athlete.

At my leanest, I was down over 20 pounds. And it was not a difficult diet, just different than what I had before. Once I got used to its simplicity, I found new favorites and saw results quickly. It was just my new norm. I really liked it. Understanding how the body works and why certain foods work better in your body and seeing the difference during training was the best part.

It’s great to know this is information I know will always have and can always use.

  • Run Smarter, Not Harder: Posture Tips for Injury-Free Running

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] With running season in full swing, I want to share my video on running posture to help you achieve your best performance. Running can be simple and enjoyable when you harness your body’s natural spring and the force of gravity. Instead of fighting the run, think about literally falling forward, using your hamstrings to lift your heels up behind you. It’s about efficiency, not effort.

Key Posture Tips for Running Success:

Good posture is essential from toes to nose, both in life and while running. Here’s what to keep in mind:
    • Stand tall but stay relaxed: Focus on keeping your body aligned without tension.
    • Ears over shoulders.
    • Shoulders over hips.
    • Hips over knees.
    • Soft knees over feet.
Now, here’s where the magic happens:
    • Fall forward from your ankles: Let gravity do the work for you.
    • Arms bent at 90 degrees: Swing them front to back like pendulums, without crossing the midline.
    • Pull heels up: With a relaxed ankle, lift each heel up behind you, one at a time.
    • And repeat—that’s running!
Aim for 45 steps in 15 seconds for optimal cadence and foot strike. Check out this quick video to see it in action: 👉 Watch the video here

Is This Program Right for You?

Let me ask you a few questions:
    • Have you signed up for a race but feel confused about how to train?
    • Have you tried running before, only to end up injured after just a few days?

  • His Results Speak for Themselves – Meet Rockstar Triathlete: Luis Carranza

    [vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

    Rockstar: Luis Caranza

    Coaches Notes:

Since we started at the beginning of the year, Luis has improved 100% in all three sports.

As a busy husband, father, and businessman who travels a lot with a goal of a 5:30 70.3, my Triathlon Transformation Program was ideal.

We started with all five of the evaluations:

    Swim Video analysis and testing
    Run video analysis and testing
Bike fit and pedaling mechanics and testing
Strength and mobility assessments, and, of course,
    Nutrition Essentials program.

From all of these assessments, I then put together a custom training program for his progressive improvement across the all three sports.

The training program, along with 24-hour access to the Full Circle Coaching Community and coaches to ask about anything and everything, reassessments every 6-8 weeks, and specific race day logistics about nutrition and pacing…

    The results speak for themselves:

    SWIM- started averaging 2:09/ 100 yards- to 1:36/ 100!

BIKE 202 watts FTP to 239 watts FTP

RUN- 7:01, 1-mile run test to a 6:27, 1-mile run test after switching from super cushion shoes to Altra zero drop shoes and improving run strength and stamina.

3 Podiums so far at both Sprint and Olympic distances.

Although we cannot continue training for the goal race in December, I am confident Luis can continue his journey to reach his goal with all the tools we have provided him over the last six months.

Congratulations Luis! You are a True Rockstar Triathlete!

    Age: 40

    Profession: Executive

Why did you choose FCC to help you on your triathlon/health and wellness journey? I was recommended to work with Coach Erinne after I asked other triathletes about a great coach who could prepare me for a half-ironman. She was highly recommended by many, so it was a no-brainer.

What is your “A” race for this season?
    Cartagena 70.3 Ironman, 2024

    What are your BIG goals?
I aim to obtain a sub 5:30 result at my first half ironman in Cartagena. I aim to drastically improve my swimming technique and get smarter with my nutrition.

What were some of your most significant improvements in performance for each of the following? Swim, Bike, Run, and Nutrition/Health. Please include any Personal Records and Goals achieved.

I literally learned how to swim! I had to restart from scratch and learn proper form and technique with Coach Erinne. This was huge, and I have seen vast speed improvement every month. I also learned and understood how to train with training zones, with purpose, and with proper technique for all disciplines, specifically cycling and running.

I have reached the podium three times now and achieved two PRs for my sprint and Olympic distance triathlons.

Name 2 or 3 things that have made the most significant difference in your journey.
I am learning to swim correctly and use nutrition to fuel my entire race! Improving my running form and technique has made me faster and my legs much stronger.

What excites you the most about being involved in triathlon?
It creates mental fortitude and discipline. I spend countless hours building businesses; this is a healthy way to channel all that energy so it isn’t only going into work.
I love being able to grow and challenge myself and to do it with others who are supportive and also on their own journey! And why not? Athletic improvement is also welcomed!

What would you say to another person who was on the fence about joining our training program?
Do it. Coach Erinne won’t let you slide. She will truly focus on you and help you improve.

The same goes for the other coaches on the team! If you are serious about taking it to the next level, join Full Circle Coaching!

  • Meet Swim Rockstar Patricia Bartholomew

    [vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

    — Coaches Notes: Trish approached me with the goal of improving her speed to complete the 8-mile Alligator Lighthouse swim as part of a relay team. We began with a comprehensive 2-hour swim video analysis, where I recorded her freestyle technique from both above and below the water, capturing every angle. Next, we evaluated her strength and mobility from head to toe, identifying areas of strength and flexibility, as well as areas that required improvement—specifically her ankles, hips, core, thoracic spine, neck, and shoulders. These key areas are crucial for enhancing swimming speed but are often overlooked in training. From this assessment, I developed a personalized training program focused on increasing her speed, strength, and endurance in the water, while also improving her mobility and strength on land. We initiated the program with a 400/200 speed test, which we retest every 6-8 weeks to track progress. Trish diligently followed her training plan, and the results have been impressive!

She improved her pace from 3:25 per 100 yards to an astonishing 2:20 per 100 yards in just a few months. But we’re not done yet! We’ve now incorporated run training, using a similar approach to what we applied for swimming. I’m incredibly proud of you, Trish! Oh, and I nearly forgot to mention—Trish lost 15 lbs along the way and looks fantastic in her Full Circle Coaching bathing suit. Keep up the amazing work, Trish!
_____ Meet Patricia 69 Year old Triathlete. I did my first triathlon at 67 years old. Triathlon helped me believe in myself and what was possible at this age.  Running is my weakest of the 3 sports and I always get pain in my piriformis. So, I decided to focus on swimming for a while.

Where were you with your swimming before Full Circle Coaching?

I was working with another coach who is a great coach but I wasn’t progressing. We did a lot of speed drills but I never got faster, only frustrated with no improvement on my 100m swim pace stuck at 3:25. I was able to swim longer but not faster. None of my Triathlon times improved.

What was holding you back? What were your goals and why? My goal was to become a faster open-water swimmer…. Which I couldn’t do with my other coach.  He recommended one of his past athletes who became a coach.  I worked with her to overcome my HUGE fear of drowning, using a wet suit, swimming in dark water, and not being eaten by an alligator. My next goal was to work with a coach who could help me prepare for the alligator Lighthouse and swim in the ocean.

How did you find Erinne? I scoured the Alligator Lighthouse website about 18 months ago to start looking for help. Earlier this year, I read someone’s post mentioning Coach Erinne. I reached out and we started working together!
Top 3 things that improved from the Full Circle Coaching swim Essentials program. I was always looking at my hands underwater and not straight down.
Breathing: with a better head position my breath work became easier. I also have been able to swim up to 7 strokes without taking a breath and this was huge for me.  Now when I swim and I am relaxed I can easily swim, breathing every 5 strokes without stressing. But I focus on breathing every 2 strokes to make sure more oxygen is coming in so I can think about my swim technique. And I alternate each lap so I am good at breathing to both sides.
Hand position: although I know to keep my hands entering the water at 11:00 and 1:00, apparently I was still crossing over.  The other coach tried to work on that with me but using the Full Circle Coaching Swim Stick-for catch-up drills was key to really improving that. it wasn’t long until I was more aware of hand placement and proper entry in the water and no longer cross over my midline.
My Catch: I am also improving my catch…. Still a long way to go but Erinne had a well-rounded pool training plan and the swim specific core strengthening, squats, lunges, planks, and pushups are helping my arms become stronger. I was missing this from my previous coaching.
My endurance improved, I can swim 3 miles nonstop. My 3:30, 100 meter pace has dropped to about 2:20 with a best time of 2:05/ 100. My technique has improved as well as my strength.

What’s Next?I am not sure about repeating the alligator, but I do want to continue with open-water swimming events and restart my Triathlon training. I always would suffer from a piriformis injury so I would have to walk the run during my triathlons…its hard to podium like that. I have started to train with Erinne to help me get back to running and continue to improve my swimming and do a 70.3 in 2025.

  • His Road to the World Championship: Meet Rockstar Chester Dilday

    Meet Chester

    Age: 61

    Profession: Endurance Coach

Why did you choose FCC to help you on your triathlon/health and wellness journey? I struggled to break through to the podium level for my AG in major triathlon races. Erinne and the FCC family have been instrumental in helping me reach my goals.

What is your “A” race for this season?

World Multisport Championship Long Distance Triathlon

    What are your BIG goals?
I have achieved my 2024 goal of being the first in my AG for TEAM  USA at the Worlds and finishing in the top five. I am now focused on qualifying and competing in Kona and the Boston Marathon.

What were some of your biggest improvements in performance for each of the following? Swim, Bike, Run, and Nutrition/Health. Please include any Personal Records and Goals achieved.
I had my best ocean open-water swim at Worlds. I improved by biking FTP to over 300W. In 2024, I broke the sub-one-hour mark for a sprint-distance triathlon. I avoided injuries in 2024 while getting my weight down to 190.

Name 2 or 3 things that have made the biggest difference in your journey
I am realizing that I am a swimmer and that relaxing and working on technique in the water is more important than trying to muscle through endless swim workouts. Another significant learning has been devoting as much priority to nutrition and recover.

What excites you the most about being involved in triathlon?
I love to compete and push myself to new limits, but helping others achieve their goals and improve their health and lives is even more exciting.

What would you say to another person who was on the fence about joining our training program?
It is all about understanding yourself and what you are looking to achieve. Triathlons and endurance sports, in general, are great options for anyone looking for long-term health and happiness. Being part of a group of like-minded people who are all looking to better themselves helps. Having someone to guide you along the improvement journey while avoiding the pitfalls and injuries is priceless.

  • Rockstar Triathlete: Christine Coppola

Age: 47 Profession: VP, HR Why did you choose FCC to help you on your triathlon/health and wellness journey? FCC helped me through a comeback to triathlon, not just physically but mentally and emotionally. Mental strength and resilience is a huge part of marathon/channel swimming, and I feel like I am in good hands with Erinne/FCC to not only train the body, but also train the brain. What is your “A” race for this season? Done! Catalina Channel is done, but English Channel will be A race for 2025 What are your BIG goals?  -Complete English Channel swim Sept 2025 – Completing this will earn me the Triple Crown in open water swimming (20 Bridges, Catalina Channel and English Channel are the 3 swims in the Triple Crown) – I would love to do the Oceans 7 and it would be a very long term goal. What were some of your most significant improvements in performance for each of the following? Swim, Bike, Run, and Nutrition/Health. Please include any Personal Records and Goals achieved. I was happy that even though I was training very long, I took the speed weeks seriously and when I did swim tests they always improved. I also got a little better about strength work but improvement area still for sure. Name 2 or 3 things that have made the biggest difference in your journey – Taking the time to recover – Allocating time for speed work – Hitting my long swims – Mental/focus What would you say to another person who was on the fence about joining our training program? I think Erinne/FCC is flexible when it comes to changing goals. I went from trying to get back in shape and training for a marathon at first, to getting back to long distance tri, then pivoting to ocean swimming.

  • Learning to Train Instead of Just Exercise – Beginner Rockstar Triathlete: Karriel Augustin

    [vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Learning to train instead of just exercise – Beginner Rockstar Triathlete: Karriel Augustin

    Coaches Notes:

I met Karriel at the Integrity Multisport Las Olas Triathlon Triathlon Clinic. He stood in the front row and asked so many great questions I knew he was excited to race. I followed up with him after the race, and he took me up on my free week trial and then decided to invest in the 8-week Beginner Tri Program.  This program is ideal for anyone who wants to train for their first to 3rd sprint or International distance Triathlon.

Karriel attended every weekly call and did most of his workouts in Training Peaks. He used our group chat to ask questions about anything he did not understand, and his confidence for his next race was up 100%. He applied all his new knowledge to the training he had been doing, and I’m super excited for his next race. Congratulations, Karriel! You are a true Rockstar Triathlete.

    Age: 43

    Profession:
    Director of Manufacturing

Why did you choose FCC to help you on your triathlon/health and wellness journey?

While training for the Las Olas Sprint Triathlon, I attended Coach Erinne Guthrie’s triathlon clinic. After completing the sprint triathlon, I joined Coach Guthrie to participate in the Full Circle Triathlon Coaching Beginner Tri Program.

I joined the program because I successfully applied many insights from the clinic specific to race-day nutrition, visiting the course before the race, and effective transition methods between the swim, run, and bike. Additionally, I wanted to continue my triathlon training more systematically.

What is your “A” race for this season?
Las Olas Sprint Tri – in Spring 2024  – 1:24 was my time

    What are your BIG goals?

My main goal is to compete in a full Ironman.

What were some of your most significant improvements in performance for each of the following? Swim, Bike, Run, and Nutrition/Health. Please include any Personal Records and Goals achieved.

    First,
I struggled with swimming. I found it challenging to find my breathing rhythm. I developed more confidence in the water after completing the eight-week training program, which incorporated many good swim drills and a one-on-one swim session with Coach Guthrie.

Secondly, my run form improved. I transformed from heel strikes to mid-foot strikes and lighter, quicker feet.

As for nutrition, I improved by being more conscientious about adding more greens/veggies daily and staying hydrated throughout the day and before and after workouts.

Name 2 or 3 things you feel will make the most significant difference in your journey:
Running:  I learned to breathe through my nose, which provided more respiratory control and less fatigue.

Secondly, the mid-foot strike helped my ability and ease in running more and walking less.

Lastly, learning the difference between training and exercising. I would be remiss not to mention the critical lesson from biking to manage riding within the zones/consistently managing my heart rate.

What excites you the most about being involved in triathlon?
I am motivated by the fitness that triathlon workouts provide and the mental fortitude they develop. I am also driven by the body’s resilience and ability to deliver results through time and conditioning. The camaraderie among triathletes inspires me.

What would you say to another person who was on the fence about joining our training program?

The Full Circle Beginner Tri training program is worth the investment in yourself. The program design is easy to follow; Coach Guthrie is dedicated, disciplined, reliable, responsive, and available to help guide and encourage you on the triathlon journey. Additionally, the whole Tribe and other coaches support answering questions anytime, and there is an opportunity to learn from beginners and veterans.

  • How Personalized Coaching Helped Her Rock Her First Triathlon: Meet Cate Gundlach

    [vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

    Beginner Rockstar Triathlete: Cate Gundlach

    Coaches Notes:

Cate reached out a few months ago with the desire to do her first triathlon after living on a boat for many years. With no background in triathlon, she enrolled in the Full Circle Coaching 8-week Beginner Tri Program as her first step on the journey to becoming a triathlete.

Nutrition and short-term injury needed to be addressed along the way to the finish line. With all the excitement of starting to train and feeling good, she decided to do more than what was recommended and ended up with some pain! It’s so hard not to overdo it when it feels so good. But we must meet our bodies where they are and progress gradually to avoid injury. This is a common situation in the triathlon. Less is more, and consistency always wins over going too fast, too far, too soon. After dialing back on the running and getting her the stretch and strength exercises she needed, she was back on track after two weeks.

Then she mentioned having no energy after her training, so we addressed what her pre and post nutrition looked like and made the adjustments she needed to be able to feel great post training instead of wiped out!

These are the benefits that come with working with  a good coach and system of training and racing that leads to success!

Congratulations, Cate. I’m so proud of you for sticking with it and listening to your body and coaches! I’m super excited for the next one and to continue the triathlon journey with you!

    Age: 42

    Profession:
    Yacht Master/ Uscg 500

Why did you choose FCC to help you on your triathlon/health and wellness journey?

I have always had an athletic outlet until my career took me to long seasons at sea in the Mediterranean and Caribbean. I began getting very bored of daily jogs and gym life and found co-rec sports dangerous as a Charter yacht captain. There is no time for a broken ankle or serious injury while at sea!!

My inner self knows that I excel with coaching and I need something athletic that provides data and requires accountability. Something in me said Triathlons! So I went online to look for coaching in Miami ~ Full Circle Coaching was it!

What is your “A” race for this season?
KB3 Mack Cycle Sprint Triathlon in May, 2024

    What are your BIG goals?

My goals are to be able to compete, not just complete. I like the fast-paced style of the Sprint Triathlons and would like to see myself get faster and stronger in each discipline.
I am not seasoned enough to pinpoint a big goal; however, the human body can far exceed most limitations that we place on it, and I want to be limitless in my Tri efforts!

What were some of your most significant improvements in performance for each of the following? Swim, Bike, Run, and Nutrition/Health. Please include any Personal Records and Goals achieved.

I signed up for the Beginner Tri Program and found myself really liking the correspondence and collaboration on the Training Peaks app with my coach. It creates tangible goals and accountability.
My biggest struggle is finding rhythm and pace in all disciplines. Coach Erinne helps me dial into cadence through our conversations, which I can transfer into honest work.
My first race was KB1 on May 19, 24. My overall efforts were doable, but my nutrition needed to be improved.
    My BIGGEST improvement was food.
I went from not having much energy to completing strong weeks of training, building in more dense nutrient filled foods, finding more energy, and recovering quicker, all because I ate better and ate more.

Name 2 or 3 things you feel will make the most significant difference in your journey:
    1) Having a Coach has made this journey possible. I would not have held myself accountable for the fire without joining the FCC.
    2) The PERFECT AMINO Supplement Erinne recommends has fueled my nutrition and recovery.
    3) Miami is the place to be for the community, and the FCC Cheer Factory is EPIC. Everyone was an instant friend and an instant cheerleader for each other. The FCC tribe is very welcoming, and I love that.

What excites you the most about being involved in triathlon?
I am very organized, so I like the night before check listing, packing, and being ready to execute the EARLY morning prep pre-race. Up with the Sun. Arriving early at the race venue, dial into your head space, taking command of my transition station early (before your neighbors crowd in).
Walking the path to the water, vibing with Mother Ocean, and asking her to carry us all safely through our swim- that kind of stuff I love- is how FCC guides us! 🙂

What would you say to another person who was on the fence about joining our training program?

There is no TRI; there is only DO. Jump off the fence and onto the right side of your life’s history!!!

  • How Ultimate Tri Camp Helped Fuel Her Triathlon Success – Rockstar Loralee Stephens

    [vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

    Rockstar Triathlete: Loralee Stephens

    Coaches Notes:

Loralee signed up for Ultimate Tri Camp two weeks before our start date in February, seeking guidance for her first 70.3 event at Gulf Coast 70.3 in May 2024. It was beautiful to see her in person, as she lived in Kentucky. On the first day of camp, we evaluate all the athletes’ swimming, biking, and running skills, providing technique improvements throughout the week. As a newer triathlete with a goal of 70.3, she had much to learn about training and race logistics. During the six days of camp, she gained valuable fitness and practical race day tips, equipping her to apply her new knowledge to the longer race. After Ultimate Tri Camp, she ended up 1st place at several short course triathlons and a 7:00 first-time 70.3

Congratulations on all your success, Loralee! I can’t wait to see what is next for you.

To get more specific help with run/swim techniques.

What is your “A” race for this season?
Ironman Gulf Coast 70.3. Ultimate Tri Camp gave me tips on how to have a better, more enjoyable race.

Tell me about your successes so far:

I completed the Gulf Coast 70.3 Ironman!

What were some of your biggest Improvements in performance at Ultimate Tri Camp?

Mindset: knowing nearly all other triathletes have struggled with similar fears & anxiety before and during races.

Did you achieve any Personal Records or Goals?
It’s hard to say since I had no previous Ironman. The goal was to finish, which I did!

Name 2 or 3 things you feel will make the most significant difference in your triathlon performance after participating in Ultimate Tri Camp:
    1. Confidence in all portions of the race.

    2. Tips/tricks for smoother transition

What was your favorite part of Ultimate Tri Camp?

  • From Fisherman to Triathlete – Meet Rockstar Chris Callaway

    [vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

    Rockstar Chris Callaway

    Coaches Notes:

From Fisherman to Triathlete, Chris has come a long way over the last few months. Last fall, he reached out to get serious about training for his first 70.3 in Chattanooga in 2024.

Our training methods have proven to be highly effective. We started with his video analysis, field testing, strength, and nutrition, which laid a solid foundation for him to build strength and health before we increased the intensity of his training. We also addressed his nutrition, ensuring he was able to absorb the healthy food he was consuming.

He even got a bonus podium in Key West in a December Triathlon.

Then, attending Ultimate Tri Camp in February was perfect timing for learning how to climb and descend hills on the bike, run, and swim in cold water with a wetsuit. He acquired many skills at camp to prepare for the conditions at Chattanooga.

Although he had knee pain, we managed it with stem cells, elliptical exercises, strength training, and stretching. I’m super proud of all your progress, and even though your race day result wasn’t perfect, you have come a long way! Race day can be tricky—way to not quit and finish. Let’s get going on the next one—you will be ready!

    Age: 48

    Profession: Wealth Advisor

Why did you choose FCC to help you on your triathlon/health and wellness journey?
I met Erinne and the FCC team at a race clinic a few years ago and joined the swim essentials training. I learned so much from tips about swimming techniques and a new way of thinking about my diet. I knew when the time was right that I’d move forward full force to achieve my triathlete goals, and I’m glad I did.

What is your “A” race for this season?
Chattanooga 70.3, a few weeks ago.

    What are your BIG goals?

I’m coming back to Chattanooga to improve my time. Also, it’s hard to come this far and not think about a full Ironman at some point 😉

What were some of your most significant improvements in performance for each of the following?

So much to add here. Right off the bat, I came in sick and had knee issues. I was a mess.

Nutrition: The gut healing protocol, tweaks to my diet, and additions of strength and consistent, disciplined training led me to a place I didn’t think was possible.

Swim: I was already a decent swimmer but got faster and more efficient over time; learning to breathe correctly was a big step.

Bike: Having Dennis around on the bike was a game-changer. From the first bike fit to all the ongoing tips during early morning rides and encouragement. I gained a ton of confidence here, and even though I always get anxious around tests, I consistently improved over time.

Run: The run has always been my nemesis, but through better technique and strengthening, I got to a place where I could run pain-free, which is a massive win!

Name 2 or 3 things that have made the most significant difference in your journey.
    1. Diet:
there is no getting around this. Garbage in = garbage out, lol. Effort here goes a long way for every other aspect of your life.
    2. The team approach is big for me; being consistent and having a sense of accountability gets you to wake up and go even when you don’t want to.

What excites you the most about being involved in triathlon?
It’s a great community! There is a sense of family. Everyone wants you to be your best as you want the same for them. There are lots of highs and lows, but there is someone always around the corner with an encouraging word:)

What would you say to another person who was on the fence about joining our training program?
Get off the fence! I promise you will thank yourself later.
