Maria is a very busy attorney and came to me specifically to get faster for Duathlon World Championships. The goal is podium!!

She does the work and shows up for all her training and strength so it wasn’t lack of effort that the results were not coming. Getting a better bike fit and changing crank arm length made an improvement on power.

Video analysis of her run technique, high cadence drills and run specific strength has helped her overcome knee pain to be able to bike and run better and faster.

Joining our Nutrition essentials program has increased energy to be able to hit the intervals and power to go faster.

29 minutes is a huge improvement on the same course so we are on the right track!

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE FCC TO HELP YOU ON YOUR TRIATHLON /HEALTH WELLNESS JOURNEY?

I self-coached until I got to a plateau and couldn’t get beyond that point. My running technique was no bueno and I saw that as the best way to be more competitive. I needed help and looked for local help in Miami.

Worlds—Abu Dhabi [if it goes] Standard and Sprint Duathlon

Podium for Worlds—Edmonton 2027 and Nationals 2027

TELL ME ABOUT YOUR SUCESS SO FAR! WHAT WERE SOME OF YOUR BIGGEST IMPROVEMENTS IN PERFORMANCE FOR EACH OF THE FOLLOWING? SWIM, BIKE, RUN AND NUTRITION/HEALTH.

As a Duathlete, I was very happy with my performance at 2026 Nationals.

I shaved 29:19 minutes from last year’s Standard Race time, I still feel slow,

but definite improvement. The run improvements were

R1 (3:17)

B (23:11) and R2 (3:38).

PRs on 1km, 1M, 5k, and 10k.

All of this in spite of an achy knee, the flu, and travel challenges. The goal was to improve and be more competitive, I did that, but this served to keep me grinding during training and to keep to the plan. Nutrition before, during, and after were critical and the Nutrition Essentials program resulted in a revamp my nutrition strategies.

NAME 2 OR 3 THINGS THAT YOU FEEL WILL MAKE THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCE IN YOUR TRIATHLON JOURNEY.

(1) Structure in training—having a schedule with particular things to do and focus on has been critical.

(2) Having training partners at work and on the weekend to keep the focus and make the misery more enjoyable.

(3) Nutritional changes and trying to figure what has been happening regarding my weight going to see my doctor again.

WHAT EXCITES YOU THE MOST ABOUT BEING INVOLVED IN TRIATHLON?

Competition is what fuels my duathlon involvement and figuring out ways to make incremental improvements. Although a 29-minute improvement is more monumental than incremental.

WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO ANOTHER PERSON WHO WAS ON THE FENCE ABOUT JOINING OUR TRAINING PROGRAM?
