Improve your running cadence by jumping rope

Jumping Rope can be more than just cardio. It also improves the elasticity of your feet to be able to rebound off the ground quicker for the next stride. This is where plyometrics come into play. Doing this will improve your cadence and you will become more springy. Not feel so heavy in between steps in your runs.

If you try to jump rope and you feel like you have no spring or can’t get off the ground quick enough try it without the jump rope. Just use the same proper body motion until the spring becomes more natural.

Also, remember to slightly bend the knees while jumping and have your chin a bit down. Your feet should be slightly shoulder width apart.

If you want a challenge, try one legged jumps in between. I dare you to try it barefoot as well. This will help you be more aware of your balance while jumping which will help you become more aware of your running balance.

Your lower body ligaments will LOVE YOU.

Happy jumping!
